Amps that don’t impersonate space heaters. Hegel 590/600 class AB, super cool, great sound
Power Amplifier - Maximum Resolution & Detail! Simaudio is great, it always impresses me at Axpona. They give incredible detail, tonality, and midrange with Wilson Sasha. I have Sasha DAW and Hegel 590, very detailed high frequency, very tight clear base, but midrange is not matching perfectly...
Solo streamer Does anyone has experience with Auralic products? And possibly compare to Aurender and Innous products?
dCS Bartok Apex vs McIntosh DA2 - Trouble Hearing the Difference I am not surprised, I auditioned DCS Bartok and compared to Hegel 590 internal DAC, and there was no improvement. I ended up getting Denafrips Terminator plus. And I am happy. My source is Bluesound. Bartok is not very good in my experience. Also ...
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions @simonmoon What I mean for digital and mechanical means, separation is too much to a point that I feel like song looses its composure. I feel like listening the each note from each instrument getting detached from the vocals that I can’t concent...
Mcintosh MAC7200 or Hegel H390 for a new pair of Kef R7 META I totally disagree with McIntosh option unless you are so used to McIntosh sound. Hegel 360 is one of the best amp for the price. Absolutely fantastic, neutral, coherent, does not color, excellent separation, and immense base control. McIntosh can...
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions Borresen sounds very impressive first. After a short while it sounds very digital and mechanic. No musicality. It feels like you are listening each individual note instead of a song. Not my cup of tea. I rather prefer a lush sound of musical speak...
My Goodness! Actually they sound very good on video. High efficiency speakers great for tube amps.
Best speaker brands for transient response Be careful with Borresen, they are impressive first and very fast, but they sound very digital and mechanical, they do not give a natural sound.
No Output from Hegel H390 I had a similar problem at one channel of my h590. I took it to a local service and they fixed it in few weeks. Hegel service center is in Texas. It might be very costly to ship the amp safely to Texas. Try to find a local service center first. Re...
Wilson Sabrina X ... oh my God! and Jadis... or? This is exactly how I felt when I heard Wilson Sasha DAW few years ago at Axpona. It was really a magical experience. I used to be big fan of B&W 802 with McIntosh gear. When I heard Wilson, everything had changed. A month later, I had a pair ...
Does it have to sound good for you to like it? Some of the best songs in the world are very poorly recorded. Eg: The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack. It still touches your heart and soul. So recording quality is not a must for me. I listen a lot of ordinary songs if recording ...
Solid State Power Amps If you are planning biamping with PrimaLuna, also consider Hegel 600. It has amazing base control it can improve base tremendously. Also former version Hegel 590 is about 6K for used. I use them for my Sasha DAW, and I love that amp.
Focal v Wilson Let me start this way, considering buying a a 20 years old Wilson Watt Puppy is a little risky. Wilson is a good choice however in 20 years speaker technology made significant progress. I always prefer Wilson to Focal at any price point comparison...
Dan D'Agostino S350 vs Luxman M-10X Hegel H30A might be a great alternative. I use Hegel 590 with my Sasha DAW, I love the synergy. You can start with one H30A as stereo, you may add another one later to use as mono amp. They are very flexible, excellent reviews as well. |
