Best Platter Material Living voice mystic mat is very good. Does all the things that my copper top on the TW Raven AC-3 does except removes the slight edge that can afflict the copper top.
Phantom 2 arm using SME vs Graham mount Opus88Since you allready have the SME mount on the TW armboard, stay with that. As you know you cannot swap inserts with the SME mount, you need to purchase a new armboard.Cheers
Turntable speed accuracy How accurate is the Timeline with its flashing laser? supposedly time-base accuracy of 2 parts per million Has that been measured for its accuracy ? what happens when the batteries start to run down?
Turntable speed accuracy I used to own a VPI TNT-V hot rod and a HRX.EVERY time a pulled out the kab strobe the speed was different. This had nothing to do with stylus drag.
VPI TNT HRX table - what tonearms? Stick with your 12.5 arm. It is v good. I used to own the 12.5 with tnt5 hr, then moved to hrx with 12.6. I much preferred the 12.5. Damping trough is required imo.
Lyra Kleos: Optimal resistance loading? anything between 50 ohms and 47k. If you read the manual you calculate the in theory resistance depending on the cap of your cable. from memory between 280 and 500 ohms is the best, however choose what sounds best in your system
TW-Acustic Raven 10.5 or DaVinci Grandezza?? I have a friend who owns both the TW tonearm and the DaVinci on a TW table He likes the TW arm a lot, however the DaVinci in his words is in a higher level. At the higher price level, one would hope that is the case.
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously? Hi Lewm /all yes, still listening to the Exclusive P3, as is T-Bone and Jaspert. Specs wise, they are faultless and a lot better than the tt-101. The SP10 mk3 has better start up torque to the P3, yet the both the L-O7D and P3 have better s/n rati...
A Copernican View of the Turntable System Hi Henry The Exclusive P3 is superb. It certainly has never had any feedback problems, so I am not sure where that comment came from. The P3 has very sophisticated triple isolation (oil-damping + spring + rubber) which is isolated from the plinth...
A Copernican View of the Turntable System Hi Henry I think Jasper being polite as he always is, is telling you to get a new wall shelf :-) One that does not sag. You can spend those pennies then :-) cheers Shane
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Raul, you and Phaser(Ian) system are more alike than different. Both SS for all amplification duties. Ian really liked the Maestro better than his double price Transfiguration. The MM cartridge will add some of the tone that SS is missing. Nothing...
Tube Phono Stage vs Solid State What do you think? The Denon DL-S1 is a killer cartridge and a great value Agreed Bill. the better the phono stage, the better the Denon DL-S1 will perform
The best alignment for 7 inch singles? Thanks John Interesting that no one has ever designed an alignment for 7 inch singles, or that Loef/Baer ever thought of it.. Given how popular they have been over the years and how manhy squillions have been sold. me, I am not really a 7 inch col...
Why use a super accurate cartridge protractor Hi photonAllen Wright of vacuum state was an Australian. His english was just fine :-)
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Amazing. The AT-95 is now Raul's best ever cartridge this month. Just put an aftermarket wood body on it, like the denon 103 and you have the world's best cartridge. Must admit, the linn k9 ( another dressed up at95) sounds pretty good. Raul, plea... |
