Is My Room Large Enough?
You can also go to the Stereophile website and look through their archives. You will find several articles that relate to room setup. You can also try the Cardas site there is an area there that discusses room setup as well. Some things to underst...
Best and Worst customer service?
My system currently consists of products manfactured by Mark Levinson, Proceed, B&W, Pass, VPI and Transparent. All have been outstanding. They have answered questions in a timely mannner and stayed with it until I was happy. The worst.......S...
Vinne Accoustics Mahler to Levinson 335?
I have the Levinson No. 332 with B&W 801 III's and the speaker cables are Transparent Audio. The Transparent's and the Levinson work well together for me. Prior to purchase of the cables I listened to several different brands and models of cab...
Help completing vinyl front end.
I agree with the VPI recommendation. I have a 19 Mk. IV and I am very happy with it. The Aries is also a good choice as well as the Basis. If you watch the used listings you can probably get into a TNT or a upper level Basis. Either is a fine choi...
Magnepan 3.6 ribbon tweeters
OOPS!! Third sentence should say: I was NOT listening loud....
Magnepan 3.6 ribbon tweeters
I had a pair of 3.5's and lost a tweeter one time. I have no idea of what happened. I was listening loud, it just decided it didn't want to play anymore. Magnapan replaced it without question or charge. You might try a using a smaller fuse on the ...
Best speaker a wife would tolerate
My wife hated my Maggie 3.5R's. Her complaint was the size. Although the speakers are not deep, they do have a relatively large "face". After doing research I was prepared to accept the consequences of the trade. One Saturday we went on a speaker ...
Levinson
I have a No. 332, the predecessor to the 335, and I am very satisfied with it. I listened to both Krell and the Levinson prior to purchasing. I found the Krell to be more forward, aggressive and harsh than I cared for. I don't mean that it is a ba...
Keeping cables off the floor
I like to use the "styrofoam" coffee cups for suspending the speaker cables. I have also used and "anti-static" spray on the carpeting. The spray does not seem to do much, but then maybe I just expect too much. Doug
Glen Miller Rock 'n Roll
Interesting thought Cornfed. You are correct, the plane was never found. To provide another thought on the question asked, several mambers of the Glenn Miller band survived the war. In fact, there is still a "Glenn Miller Band" that tours. This ba...
In-wall speaker help
B&W makes a line of in-wall soeakers, you might give them a try. Their website is www.bwspeakers.com. Good Luck, Doug
Vibrapods and Speakers
I have not tried this, but I do remember reading something recently in one of the high end mags, (TAS/Stereophile/Listener/Ultimate Audio) can't remember which one. That explored the same thing with similar results. I believe you have confirmed th...
Anchor Magnepans
I had a pair of Maggie 3.5R's an felt the same way about the stand. I don't know what specific photo you are refering to, but I am looking at an ad showing a Maggie 3.6 stand. The ad is for Sound Anchors, I would start there. Their website is www....
Do loudspeakers need to be Refurbished?
In the eighteen years since you bought those speakers there has been quite a bit of technology put into the design and construction of speakers. This technology includes both the drivers and cabinets. A great deal of this technology is based on th...
If you had to make this decision....
I had Levinson 38 and last fal upgraded it to the 380S. It was an astounding upgrade. If you compare the 38S and the 380S you will find a similar difference.
