Spatial Audio Raven Preamp What Lynn said about coupling caps is true. I have gone through most of the best ones in various designs, and they can sound good to very good. But the entire Revelation series we designed for Spatial has NO coupling caps from the input to the p...
Spatial Audio Raven Preamp @jc4659 I am using the Shuguang flagship WE6SN7plus in mine. They are finally back in production. That will be the base tube going forward. The hand selected Linlai E-6SN7 is more expensive and the upgrade option. I would say they are both ju...
Spatial Audio Raven Preamp @terrapin77 Yes, please let us know how the Raven mates with your system and your impressions. It will help others get a data point on a new product that is finally reaching production after 2 years of development. Spatial is starting to crank...
300b lovers I rebuilt a number citation 1 preamps over the years for customers. I didn't care much for the line stage section with the anode follower, and miles of wire and switches, but the phono section was among the best of the vintage gear.
300b lovers Also, I am considering a build of Thomas Mayer's octal phono schematic with my own power supply choices. One of those things I may eventually get around to.... You have probably looked at that schematic, but if not, perhaps google it
300b lovers My only experience is two builds with passive RIAA. They sounded good, but I have not experimented with the other type, sorry.
300b lovers @alexberger Congratulations! Lovely amplifier and you should be proud. I hope it brings you many years of pleasure, until the bug hits to try yet a different circuit:) I assure you, the addiction never ends!
300b lovers I have done every permutation and combination of ways to build this 300 PP circuit. I originally started with high quality CCS and then went to LC coupling, which sounded more natural and musical to my ear, and then finally went to full transform...
300b lovers That is the first thing you notice when you hear our 300b PP. The bass is amazing. It is not over emphasized at all, but if there is bass energy on the recording you hear it all. Most importantly, it is the quality of the bass, not the quantity. W...
300b lovers @audioquest4life I did not make it to the room you mentioned above. I was quite busy running our room with Spatial Audio Lab and only made it to about half the rooms at the show. The link you posted did not work. Can you check and repost it?
300b lovers We just did the sw audio fest in Dallas using the original version and we had one of the top rooms at the show. It really isn't a big change.
300b lovers @fthompson251 Hi. It is a very subtle change that I find inaudible, but on paper it is slightly better. The xlr inputs now go directly to the Attenuator and the rca go through a 1:1 transformer to convert to xlr. The previous version ran all...
300b lovers I believe the preamp is $5500. Search for spatial audio lab, find the site and look at the revelation series and preamp and you will find it. On the preamp, it is fully balanced and transformer coupled to output. Pin 1 is shield and grounded to...
300b lovers I just returned from Dallas, and I have to tell you that our room was one of the top two or three in the show. Danny Ritchie (GR Research) came by and told us our room was his pick for best sound of the show. Sam Whitt, the speaker designer at S...
300b lovers No, not that I know of. Dallas, and then I think they are planning on going to Seattle again in early Sept. You should write them to see if they are planning on going to the east somewhere. You can contact them via their site. |
