The wall behind me.

What song is your fav.Emmylou cut???
Eldartford, You must have a different "Producer's Cut" than I have. It is one of the most disappointing discs I have ever purchased--both for song selection and recording quality. I am a big fan of Emmylou but I cannot stand to listen to that disc.
Recommendations for a sub $600 power strip?
Here is a new model from Exact Power. I saw it at CES. It is very well built. I believe the price was expected to be around $600. Be sure to click on the "EPDS Solution" and "Specifications" links. http://www.morriscasale.com/exactpower/products/e...
Help me please, I don't have ground?
It seems like you are not sure if you have a proper ground in your wiring. If you live in the United States you can purchase a simple testing device (less than $10) in any hardware store. Simply plug it into the wall outlet and see what LEDs light...
J&R salesman says turntables outsell CD playe 10:1
I wonder if data is somewhat skewed from different vendors. Best Buy, Circuit City, etc may be selling many CD players or DVD players (to be used for CDs also). But if someone wants to purchase a turntable there are fewer vendors to choose from so...
Ps audio statement biwire to speakers
In crossover design the typical usage is:Low frequency use red and black.High frequency use white (substitute for red) and blue (for black).I am not familiar with the cables you have but if they are all connected at the amp end and all individual ...
Make sure your speakers spikes are coupled
I noticed the same improvement with my speakers when I replaced the factory spikes with longer ones. The factory spikes did not penetrate all the way to the concrete slab. The speakers were floating on the carpet and I could turn them slightly. Af...
Tripping Breakers
I agree with all of the comments on aging circuit breakers. I have both been there and done that. But I also have to add some potentially worse news. I have noticed occasions where a buss bar became burned and continued to be a problem after the b...
Future of CD's - Hard drive based music
Jaybo, To add to what you said--Many times those who just download one song from a CD miss some real jems. I recently bought a CD (the actual physical disc) because one song grabbed me. Then I discovered another song on the CD that I liked even mo...
Plextor closes it's doors to CD and DVD products
Arnold, Thank you for the timely information. I appreciate it and I am sure many others appreciate it as well.
Does Shunyata Hydra sound best with just one unit
I currently have 6 units (all digital including 3 digital amplifiers) plugged into my Hydra-8 and have never noticed a difference between a few units and 6.Do not judge all power conditioners based on your PS Audio experience.
Who makes custom sized BB & granite slabs?
Perfectionist, Good luck. Please be sure to let us know how it works out and what configurations you try. I am thinking of slabbing my speakers.
What amp to use with Apogee Stage speakers
Also consider McCormack and hybrid amps (SS/tubes). Tubes on Stages are very musical if you provide adequate power. Stages can sound good with low power amps but they will be somewhat congested compared to a more powerful amp. I am not talking mon...
What amp to use with Apogee Stage speakers
I have owned Stage speakers (later upgraded to Mini Grands) for 15 years. The low power statements for the Stage speakers was a marketing point that was accurate but not 100% accurate. I find they like a little more power. They will sound good wit...
