Best audiophile multichannel SACD player
Don't discount the Sony players. Keep in mind that they invented and own the SACD chip technology. I'm still using an older Sony 999ES and it's about as musical on SACD as you can get. I've heard very good things about the newer Sony 5400 and also...
Anti-Cabls Ic's alternatives?
Try PNF Audio. Best cables I've ever used, period. They work incredibly well with PNF's own Symphony speaker cables, but I'd imagine they'll do well with the Anti-Cables, too (although I've never tried the combination personally).
when are you done comparing IC's
I've used or auditioned Kimber, AQ, Tributaries, Cardas, Transparent, Aperture, Monster, Esoteric, custom built stuff, home brew, etc, etc, etc... the trip stopped for me when I discovered PNF Audio. Absolutely the best value in cabling I've ever ...
Interconnect for sweet, silky violin sound
It's not always just a matter of ic choice. There's lots of interactions that go on between components and lots of times different cables will react in different ways depending on the system they're used in. I've used lots of different cables over...
Interconnects to use
If you're looking for silly good value, try PNF Audio. I've had a complete loom from them for some time and I doubt if I'll ever go back to anything else.... Give them a try, you' be glad you did!
Looking for a great, inexpensive phono stage...
Anybody ever had any experience with the DB Systems DB8? Just curious....
Nait 5i speaker choices
Thanks for the suggestions folks. I've heard good things about the Arro's and that was one that was getting consideration. Keep those suggestions coming otherwise too!Jaybo, thanks for the comments on my current system. I do like it quite a bit an...
Valab NOS Dac VS. Cambridge Azur DacMagic
I've had a DACMagic in my system and I was pretty impressed with its performance, especially at the price point. Always seemed very "clean" sounding with very good details. I've replaced it recently with an MHDT Labs Paradisea+ NOS DAC, and I have...
Budget CDP: Cambridge 640c, Marantz CD5003, what?
I've owned a Cambridge, and for the money they are really hard to beat especially if you're looking for smooth, musical player. Another thing to consider in the used market is one of the Sony's like an NS999ES or NS9100ES or maybe some of the Rote...

Maggies with no Sub: Fantastic surprise
Very interesting thread with lots of good food for thought for us Maggie owners. My system is a bit more budget minded with Maggie 1.6's. I also use an Onix Rocket sub. What seems to be the trick with a Magnepan (or just about any other planar for...
DAC with the best midrange ever.....
Just put an MHDT Paradisea+ into my system. Most "musical" DAC I've yet to hear! My next upgrade will probably be to their Havana model. Stupid, low price too, which is always nice... Mid's are liquid and smooth; RBCD and digital streams are both ...
PS Audio Digital Link III vs MHDT Paradisea
Karmatogdral, what's the rest of your system setup...? Know any good sources for the Tungsol 5670's? Just a tip, I've dealt previously here on A'gon with Webtoco who is over in Holland and a good source for tubes... he might have some interesting ...
PS Audio Digital Link III vs MHDT Paradisea
I have a Raytheon in place right now. The previous owner had very good things to say about it in his rig, so I left it in place to start off. I also have the stock GE which I haven't had a chance to try yet. I'll probably start searching for some ...
PS Audio Digital Link III vs MHDT Paradisea
OK, had some opportunity to listen in earnest to the Paradisea... Not quite sure that I understand comments that I see about NOS DAC's "not having enough detail", that doesn't seem to be the case here. I've had a couple of oversampling/upsampling ...
