What are the differences between XRCDs? There are XRCD and SHM XRCD variants pressed in Japan but usually for the Asian market. Some of them are very good. My SHM XRCD2 of Hell Freezes Over is the best one yet
Best DVD Audio Player Today--New or Used Actually I have not encountered a DVDA that's copy protected and those will output full HR over SPDF.
Playback Designs I find the difference between the Playback/EMM DSD DACs vs the PCM1704 to be in the capability to resolve complex arrangements. I find that with many instruments/voices/percussions etc, the DSD DACs tend to show the delineation well.
Playback Designs As a DAC, I think the DSD DAC on the Playback and EMM Labs are better than even the PCM1704s on the Ayons. But the Ayon CD5S as a combined unit with a tube preamp is quite special. So when I compared the EMM XDS1/MPS5 with an Audio Research Refere...
Anyone has heard the Bel Canto REFLink Asynchronou You bought the CD3T? Have you tried it with the DAC3.5VBII?

External HD Changing the quality of the sound? I too use iTunes. But the Mac version is better integrated with the OS from what I understand than the PC version and it is a great way to organize album meta data and playlist. I just organize them once and it works for my music servers and iOS/i...
External HD Changing the quality of the sound? Oh, if you are using a USB connection on your DAC, use a FW or Thunderbolt drive. If you are using a FW-SPDIF connection, use a USB DAC.
External HD Changing the quality of the sound? a. Use a SSD for the main OSb. OK to use an external drive for musicc. use a music player software that does memory cache-ing
Anyone has heard the Bel Canto REFLink Asynchronou Bel Canto has 3 new USB Link devices. All 3 are asynchronous USB vs synchronous on yr DAC2.5 And I feel any of the 3 should work with your DAC2.5 to provide an upgrade in SQ.FWIW, I have found big differences going from synchronous to async USB de...
Anyone has heard the Bel Canto REFLink Asynchronou The REF Link is a USB-SPDIF converter. A smaller/less featured USB-SPDIF converter is built into the DAC2.5The external uLink mLink and REFLink provide some form of isolation of the noisy computer signals from the DAC itself. One end plugs into th... |
