AT OC9/II vs AT OC9/III
bpoletti--no, I moved to a Soundsmith MIMC Star--wrote a long comparison here if you are interested:https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/3-cartridges-reviewed
AT OC9/II vs AT OC9/III
Many years ago I spoke with the US Importer (I believe) about the difference between the two and (if I recall correctly) he told me the ONLY difference was the way the stylus was fixed to the cantilever. Consequently, he said, there was no differe...
Notable very small loudspeaker companies (other than Tekton!)
+4 on Daedalus. I've known Lou for over a decade now and he has been an vital partner in my audio journey. I'm on my second pair of Daedalus speakers and Lou has supported my DA-1.1s with multiple upgrades as he has advanced his craft. Lou speaker...
Review: Linear Tube Audio (LTA) "Ultralinear" Amplifier
tuckia08: Did you get to hear the Apollo's in Lou's other room with the Modwright Ambrose A30's? I'd be interested in hearing how you would compare the sound in these two rooms. I hear the Apollo's are very special and may work better in the small...
Review: Linear Tube Audio (LTA) "Ultralinear" Amplifier
Hey guys thought I would check back in...I decided to go with a monoblock pair of the pre-production model which is housed in a ZOTL 40 case and includes the volume control for direct operation (without preamp). I've had one of the two amps in pla...
Phono stage
Another vote for the Herron, which I just got back from Keith with the "A" updates. It was already an amazing phonostage but I do hear improvements with the upgrades--though it is still breaking in so I can't comment with any detail on the perform...
Best cartridge under $1500.
cohicks4: FWIW, I recently reviewed three cartridges here:https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/3-cartridges-reviewed?highlight=3%2Bcartridges%2BreviewedThough more money, I felt the ART 9 and MIMC Star were significantly better than the Quintet ...
Neil Young - Guitarist
So for me the thing about Neil's guitar playing is the sense of time he keeps. This became even more clear to me with the release of the "Massey Hall" and "Live at the Cellar Door" LPs. His playing is great on both these albums--not the kind of py...
Review: Linear Tube Audio (LTA) "Ultralinear" Amplifier
Cool--that should be an interesting comparison. I'm curious as to what speakers you are using in your main system given the power output differential between the Quadrature Z and the LTA Ultralinear. Given the enormous cost differential, it will b...
LP Gear (Nevada) Customer Service?
I bought my ART 9 from them. No issues whatsoever.
Donald Fagan The Nightfly Ultra One-Step
Finally got around to cracking the seal on mine yesterday. I was a little apprehensive about this purchase (first generation digital recording and all) but WOW does this LP rock! Super quiet pressing, excellent dynamics and gobs of inner detail. I...
Review: Linear Tube Audio (LTA) "Ultralinear" Amplifier
bobheinatz: I sent the pre-production unit back to LTA after spending several weeks with it in my system. Like you, I am waiting for the production model to be released, which will happen soon. Over the past several years I've considered several d...
Linear Tube Audio- Any feedback on their amps/ Preamp?
Folks may want to check this out if they haven't seen it already:https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/review-linear-tube-audio-lta-ultralinear-amplifierAs good as it gets.......
Review: Linear Tube Audio (LTA) "Ultralinear" Amplifier
Hi Bob:I haven't but it will be soon. I'll touch base with Mark and see what information he can provide.
Review: Linear Tube Audio (LTA) "Ultralinear" Amplifier
@weebeesdad, I did not get a chance to try the Ultralinear with the MZ2 and used it exclusively with my Herron VTSP-3ARO3. My understanding from the forums is that pairing ZOLT technology in the pre-amp and amplification stages provides unmatched ...
