Strange ticking noise when amps were powered on from cold
Copied from Aesthetix owner's manual see below: It is normal that a slight pop may be heard when going into or coming out of Standby. This is due to the amplifier switching from high bias to low bias.

Strange ticking noise when amps were powered on from cold       Probably the amp going from low bias to high bias.           Mike
Schiit Mini loko+
I think it’s an excellent idea.       I agree
Rogue RP-1 or Schiit Freya
The Freya + is a nice sounding Preamp. I use NOS 6sn7GT Ken-Rad (Pre-Ge) staggered plates with black carbonized glass. The sound to my ears is balanced from top to bottom. As for the sound of the Freya + you must try it in your rig to know if you ...
McIntosh MA 352 or C22 Mk V?
So your speakers are bi-amp able? If they are, that is your answer. Add a pair of class Ds to run the bass and you won't be running out of gas an time soon.        ! agree!

Tube Integrated vs Tube Seperates
Quicksilver does get some great reviews. My issue is more cosmetic with them. I really prefer all of the connections to be on one side, and that side should be the back       Aren't they on the back of the amp?
Rogue RP-1 or Schiit Freya
I recommend you do a home demo of the Freya+ just to save money.        I agree!
Underpowered?
Does that MS252 have a variety of transformer tap impedance posts? And was it using the 8 ohm tap?       Just to be clear, The McIntosh MA252 amp is solid state with a tube preamp.

@dridel, Bravo!! Glad you are happy now with the sound of the B&W 702's.😊This article came to mind on bi-amping speakers. Thought you might like it. In my experience I always found bi-amping to sound better then a single amp. Mike https:/...

@dridel,   This review just came to mind!

@dridel, JMO: I would keep the B&W 702 speakers and the McIntosh MA252 amp. Then buy a second amp to BI-AMP the B&W speakers. That should improve the bass. Also, are the foam plugs in the rear ports? If yes, I would remove them.
Do I need a 20 amp or 15 amp power conditioner/surge protector
@ditusa I’m joining the 220V crowd. I just ordered a 220V amp today. By the time it gets here (from Europe) I’ll have my 220V circuit modified and ready to power it up. Second: who is this msbtechnology that wrote up the paper you referenced. I l...
What a pile of Schiit
The complaints about Schiit are nonsense!        I concur!
