Balanced versus single ended
@zlone, Interesting. Are you saying that both amplifiers and cables that are billed as balanced might not be to standard? Yes, that has been my experience. See @atmasphere wrote on 05-26-2022 at 12:04pm a good post thoroughly explaining that. ...

@tony1954, Bravo!
For classical music lovers best amp for large orchestral forces?
@roxy1927, I will also read up on bi-amping as that might be cheapest of all. This just came to mind! See the article below by JBL about BI- AMPING. FWIW: All amplifiers produce more distortion in lower impedances then higher impedances.   ...

@roxy1927, I would try horizontal BI- AMPING the speakers with an active crossover. It will improve the sound quality from top to bottom immensely. See the article below: Mike https://www.audioadvice.com/videos-reviews/speaker-bi-wiring-bi-am...

Balanced versus single ended
@zlone, My components say they are balanced, but how does one really know if they are built to the AES standard? I have never seen this mentioned in the specs. Call the manufacturer and ask if their audio components are AES48 compliant.   Mike

Bose 901's in an acoustically treated room?
Regarding the 901’s: you cannot get good bass out of  9 small 3inch drivers no matter how many watts you pump into them! They are strictly midrange speakers! I agree!
Active or passive power conditioner?
What is your goal? What are you trying to fix? How would you determine if it improves? Is it for front end gear or amplifiers? Great questions
