Filling speaker stands: sand, lead, steel, rice. Full, half, etc?
Do not use kitty litter unless you are in a dry climate all year long. Litter absorbs moisture like a sponge, clumps and expands. You need tight welds to use sand or litter as it will leak out the cracks. Small pebbles or steel shot are my recomme...

I am with rotaryphone, I don't care for Russian or Chinese tubes. I have used many different 12AX7's and prefer, by a long shot, vintage Tele's and are the only choice for me in my phono stage.

I used small round pebbles, available at Home Depot in 50lb. bags. Be sure they are dry before using. They are a lot less messy than shot or sand. Filled stands will not effect the position of the stands and I fill them up all the way as long as t...

What I do is ask the low baller what makes him think that his offer is a reasonable one and how he came to that conclusion. Along with the question, I send him links to the same item that has recently sold or are offered for sale on eBay, Craigsli... 
Store auditioning and then buying on-line from others. How do you feel about it ?
