Best "Bang for the Buck" you have owned?
Superphon revelation basic back in the 80's/with bk st140...upgraded vol pots in that thing and HS it sounded good.My diy ic’s are sounding great for under $73 bucks parts/materials.

Before spending money on anything more have you tried a different setup...more nearfeild...just tightening my speaker stands and grounding them to carpeted floor saved my speakers from chopping block...can listen alot lower volume and sound stage ...

Big speakers in small room at moderate volume levels
Glad you like 12's gosta...the atc scm 19 v2 have been first monitor that has eliminated need for room correction...id think I would need a sub eventually...my room isn't much bigger as poster...smaller room has been the best over all listening ex... 
Speakers near fireplace
I had to place one speaker (dynaudios) close to fireplace as well at old house ...thought it was far enough away and monitored and felt the side of it,it was fairly warm... but not hot...had big family gathering at xmas and fireplace got super hea... 
Warmer sounding Solid State
Im still liking my modwright kwi 200...descent power w/warmth....some earlier posts about guitar amps/tubes vs ss...come on I love my dr z amps...but this is audio...lol...aight!

Ive had my hollowgrams for...well longer than any component...must be 8 years and still feel no need to replace them. 
Oppo/Modwright 105 no sound
Have you done the firmware update?...not sure that's the answer...my 105 is a whole different player after doing the the upgrade...look into this? 
If not an Oppo 205 then what?

ive owned several dynaudio....1.3 special edition contour...nice speaker...but the atc has a truthfullness about them...i am a musician as well...kind of like that about atc's...it just depends what your preference is...the piano rendered by atc i...

I would say that scm 40’s would be choice..but i have found my 19’s need some hump to get to were they are pushing air...40’s might be differant cause dedicated woofer...but you have the perfect room no setup constraints with the atc’s 
Small dedicated listening rooms
I like rollinT have 19 s toed in at me almost!/straight near feild with some space (3’ 6" from back wall to front/tweeter) no damping/ from the wall to offer soundstage...and the port less cabs sound great in small room...depending on your listeni... 
In search for speakers of "natural" sound
atc is my vote...it was going to be between harbeth,spendor,atc...non ported cab was what my room was needing 
Your thoughts about ATC loudspeakers
I have had my scm 19 v2's for over a year...they are honest no colored up sounding...sometimes it could use 'candy colored'...these are the most honest sounding stand mounts ive had... 
Sound Anchor Stands
Originally bought targets best stand...there descent...moved up to sound anchor for atc 19’s...They are the best (imho)...The small sorbethane adds barely nothing to tone...tried several of the "best" recommended and meh...back to original...he ha...
