Tubes or Solid State?
@bigkidz I have three MF units plus a DAC, do you mean the M2si? I am more than happy with my Audiolab CDT/V-90 DAC combo. It's a big improvement over my Cambridge Topaz Unit. There was an SPL Elector for sale here for $1850.00 And a Phonitor Pre/...

@elliottbnewcombjr I don't know much about streamers at all. I do know I don't want to subscribe to a streaming service in order to be able to use one. About DACs all I'll say is this. A CD transport/DAC combination, even a budget DAC like mine wi...
Tubes or Solid State?
@ghdprentice I’m looking at all possibilities, and haven’t ruled anything out yet, well anything under $2K in price that is. My "forever system" is almost in place. I think a tube preamp would be just the thing to put it over the top. (see below) ...

It's Maple tree and they're in Canada. I sent an email to contact them and I haven't received a reply.

I don't know.  I have a decent sized power amp 125 wpc @ 8 Ω and MF claims 75 amps of current peak to peak. My speakers are fairly efficient 94db @ 1 watt/1 meter. So gain in the preamp stage might not be that big an issue.  It's all about synergy...

Thanks. I playing with the idea of getting a new line stage from them. I don't need or want a phono section. To be honest I can't really complain about the M2si as a preamp other than the fact there are no tubes in it.

They took the face plate off, adjusted the position of the switch. I was told the tech "reassembled it." whatever that means. They probably cleaned any contacts or sticking points as well.. Works like new.

Well I took the amp into a vintage hi fi shop in my town. They fixed it for a price. I won't reveal it here, but I think they were fair.

Today I took the amp to a shop to get worked on. I'll know in 2 weeks whether or not it worked.

Thanks, I just might give that a try. There are 4 screws on the face plate. if that doesn't work I take it into a shop.

@Carlsbad. Thanks, I'm probably in the 90% that couldn't fix it. Then I surprise myself every so often.

Thanks.
