Mac Mini
I'm using HRS Nimbus pucks (3), under my Mini and I can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt that I could care less. I just use them because I have them. It seems that air vents are at the bottom so I used the HRS pucks to lift the Mini off of...
Scotch? No thanks. Whats the best Vodka.?
As I sip some Ciroc while writing this, I will say that I am very fond of the French grape vodka. I also love Ketel. It doesn't get enough respect in my opinion. Haven't seen any Zyr posts. Used to love it, but been going with the Ciroc lately. As...
Mac Mini USB output sounds "garbled"
I found out what was wrong. Go into iTunes, then click window. Then click "Equalizer". This next part is the key.....make sure equalizer is OFF. Just to be sure, turn preamplifier down to 0db, but absolutely turn off EQ. This fixed my problem. If ...
Mac Mini USB output sounds "garbled"
Jax2: I'm using a Cambridge Audio DacMagic. I'm running USB 2 out of the Mini into USB 1 in the DacMagic. I will try the toslink next.
Trade offs?
"If you want more of your cd's to sound less harsh, then I suggest moving toward a less resolving system...." WHAT?!?!?! Tvad: Do you really think that someone should totally reconfigure their system to accomodate "harsh" sounding cd's, instead of...
You know you're an audiophile if--

Should a Furman power conditioner Buzz?
My friend had the same problem with his. He called Furman and they knew exactly what it was. They had to replace some part. After he recieved the unit back, the buzzing was gone. I would call Furman.
Researching solutions for purchasing a system
What are your listening habbits? What kind of music will this system play? At what volume levels? How often do you listen? I think the amplifier/speaker match will probably be your most important decision. Example: if you listen to small jazz grou...
Power Conditioning experience...
I also have an IT Reference. I've listened with and without it and the difference is substantial; much quieter with blacker backgrounds. More isolation. Cuts down noise from other components. I couldn't imagine living without it. I do not have a d...
man do I miss Tower records and
One more thing. The guy in Indy who had to close down his vinyl shop listed high gas prices as one of the reasons people stoped going to the store. Oh my god, give me a break. Does he really believe that high gas prices are one reason people are n...
man do I miss Tower records and
Tower was killed 99 cents at a time. Downloaded music was the major reason Tower closed up shop and this generation has itself to blame. They really could care less as long as they get their music, but think about this for a moment: When vinyl was...
What time do you wear?
2000 Omega Seamaster. Besides audio, it's the best money I've ever spent.
Mapleshade cables?? v Anti Cables
Anti-cables sound wonderful. Not only do AC's sound great, but they're rediculously cheep as well. However, they are as stiff as coat hangers and are, in my opinion, difficult to work with. Try DNM. Around the same price, easier to handle, and mor...
Recommendations for solid core speaker wiring?
By the way Usblues: If you realy want to hear outstanding cable that also happens to be solid core, check out my Crimson's.
Recommendations for solid core speaker wiring?
Anit cables "...are the easiest of all to use". Now that is "sarcastic to the max".
