Qobuz Hi-Rez Not Necessarily the Best Sound
@mapman  I totally agree- having access to so much is truly an amazing thing. I wish it had been that way when I was growing up! I remember having dinner with a friend years ago (an audio engineer I worked with) and he was describing the process ...

@mapman  So how has the vinyl conversion been working out in whole with the process you described? Do you find yourself still acquiring new titles or purely archiving your previously purchases albums?
Qobuz Hi-Rez Not Necessarily the Best Sound
@p05129  I might agree with you on Hi Rez sounding better but until this day I’ve only been able to playback within the limits of my Dac. I’ve used Native DSD’s site and have heard some really interesting music there but ultimately had to downsam...
Qobuz Hi-Rez Not Necessarily the Best Sound
I guess I didn’t clearly describe my setup and use. I audition music via streaming services before making the decision on what to buy. Once the disks arrive they sit in the listening queue. All disks are ripped via my Naim Uniti Core and stored fo...
Qobuz Hi-Rez Not Necessarily the Best Sound
@mapman / @lowrider57  This is why I continue to buy CD’s and only use streaming for auditioning new music. Although I love the ability to have access to hundreds of thousands of artist titles ultimately it’s the quality of the streamed music tha...
Whats playing on your system today?
Now Playing: Esmerine- Everything Was Forever Until It Was No More A very nice set of instrumentals just out this year.
My audio system and streaming service are not yet on speaking terms. Help needed.
The Innuos Zenith MKIII would be a great move- a lot of bang for $4.5K. If the $$$ amount is too steep on that a lot of people get good use from Bluesound products. I think the Vault 2i is going for $1.3K but I can’t speak as to whether it offers ...
Mesh network versus a simple Wi-Fi extender
That’s the case at my place. I needed a network connection for a music server- the powerline was the easiest method of achieving that.
Book Shelf Speaker advice - Formerly Book Shelf Dilemma
@raydecraene  Have you considered any of the powered/wireless speakers from Kef or Dynaudio? I believe both manufacturers have something to offer within the price range you’ve stated. I remember when my wife and I purchased our first place- dink...
Canare 4S11
@lowrider57  I would go balanced- but that’s just my preference. I’m using Canare L-4E6S for all my balanced interconnects and have had no regrets.
Canare 4S11
@lowrider57  I’ve always preferred using balanced in my system but to me the difference between balanced and single ended has more to do with the implementation of the circuit within the device in addition to the difference in gain. on a side no...

@curiousjim  Just looked up “Stone Rebel” on Bandcamp- surprised I hadn’t heard of them before. I’ll try this out later today!
Mesh network versus a simple Wi-Fi extender
@soix- I can’t speak to the improved sound “quality” of streaming but I had previously suffered continuous dropouts and stuttering (for lack of a better description) which was driven by the router. When changing equipment I had been advised to us...
So, I listened to a $1Million Dollar System
It had to be a poor setup- larger Wilson’s have a huge range of adjustment for fine tuning. Heavy toe in sounds like they were in a hurry to setup or just didn’t know how to approach it.  I have similar experience as with Ozzy and 12many- sources ...
Sound is better when I stand up?
@simao  I know what it’s like to work with a small room- you can see mine under user/systems. The tweeters in my speakers are above my head while sitting and it’s no problem. The image is centered and at a nice height. At first I would say to mov...
