Cones for Llano Trinity Amp
Just a screw through a nut on the INSIDE of the chassis (that's the slightly difficult part - sometimes getting at the nuts to loosen).
Cones for Llano Trinity Amp
Also, should be able to remove the kind goofy chrome "ball" feet altogther, and use isolation, cone, etc. of your choice.I did from my Trinity 300 (as well as stock "feet" from ALL my gear), so was able to experiment with different types of feet.
Tube amp for ML Prodigy's
Has anyone tried the Antique Sound Labs "Hurricane's" with the Prodigies out there?
ASL Hurricane's -- paper-in-oil, verdict?
Rwd; I purchased mine as the latest version, oil-in-paper installed. Also has the "triode/pentode" switch. Still continue to be amazed at the sound of these iron-fist in a velvet-glove beauties! They continue to sound more "relaxed" and even more d...
ribbon or electrostatic speakers
Also, I think you have to add the VMPS RM40's and such into this fray...Fast ribbon from 250Hz to 10k and "mega woofers" rated down to something like 32Hz. All the "impact" you'll possibly ever need.

Stock ... for now

Jake7, you might want to at least audition a pair of Antique Sound Labs "Hurricane's" if you can accomodate tubes.Several pair here @ 'Gon for around $3200.00I have owned (6) different pairs of Logans, and currently have a pair of VMPS RM40's powe...
ASL Hurricane's -- paper-in-oil, verdict?
Just thought I'd "update", those concerned, on the Hurricane's.I took the plunge, and purchased the oil-in-paper cap version (latest iteration), and well, after 'bout 150 hrs. "burn in", all I can say is WOW.I'll put it straight and to the point (...
Mark Levinson 23.5
AJPAT;For what it's worth, one of the best systems I ever heard, years ago, consisted of the venerable old Alon IV's driven by all Levinson electronics -- with the 23.5 amp. Also, I have heard from a couple audiophile buddies that consider the 23.5...
ASL Hurricane's -- paper-in-oil, verdict?
All right guys, finally! Thanks for the observations! Also, those interested, I found some further reading at the www.high-endaudio.com site with comparisions between the two versions. Arthur also seems to prefer the latest "oil in paper" version.I...
Best way to "foot" a subwoofer ??
Kgveteran;Yep, (2) of the walls are concrete, regrettably, I located my listening room in my basment for maximum "isolation", (3 kids, one patience-running-thin wife)but as "Snickelfritz" --(thanks!) so accurately points out (and as I again, regre...
Amps for ESL
Dru,For what it's worth, I had M.L. reQuests with a Classe CA301. I "auditioned" an InnerSound ESL amp (check the various reviews on the ESL) and in my case -- no comparision, the ESL "killed" the Classe in all areas.I would strongly recommend you...
ASL Hurricane's -- paper-in-oil, verdict?
Well???Considering the meteoric popularity of this amp, why aren't there more postings here?As one of the core reasons for this great forum is to help and assist those of us considering a purchase (and who are in the dark), we're all waiting....C'...
What do you think of Classe
Also, as always, VERY dependent on the loudspeakers you are hooking them up to. I had a CA301, driving my Martin Logamn reQuests, with what I thought was pretty decent sound. Then a friend brought over his InnerSound ESL amp -ABSOLUTELY SMOKED THE...
Advice on building a dedicated listening room.
Hello to all. Just wanted to give a quick update, with some observations, on my new room. I'm almost finished, but one negative I would like to pass on is the use of "resilent channel".After installing the resilent channel on (1) wall (with 1/2" o...
