I don't want to beat a dead horse but I'm bugged.
The current type of measurements as practiced over at ASR and similar sources just are not predictive of how a product will sound. This is patently obvious,  no correlation to subsequent sound quality at all. How can you possibly state this wit...
How Electricity Actually Works
Tesla said the following on the theory of relativity in a 1935 New York Times interview: "The theory, wraps all these errors and fallacies and clothes them in magnificent mathematical garb which fascinates, dazzles and makes people blind to the u...
objective vs. subjective rabbit hole
Mahgister and teo_audio, You put a lot of words down on this topic, but in my opinion they do nothing to advance the debate. To me they are nothing but special pleading sans any justification of said pleading offering no concrete relevance to the...

If we are going to be pedantic. Electrons don’t flow, but they have a net biased movement direction where a current exists. The total kinetic momentum (embodied energy) will be a factor of current. Energy does not flow in the conductor, but there ...
objective vs. subjective rabbit hole
We get all these angry 'fact mongers' on forums, everywhere, on all forums..who don't understand this ..... and attack, demanding  their own self security be reflected by me, into them... a thing that.. which ultimately...cannot and does not exis...

THIS, all of the above, is why, in the physics department and all of it’s subdivisions into science and training and academia.. that all of the professors, if pushed and asked, will tell you that there is no such thing as a fact, and all is theor...

So, prescribe to everyone components, or a set of components making up an entire system. I'm sure you guys could come up with a number of systems meeting your objective criteria to prescribe to us subjectivists. We then could have face offs betwe...

I wish I could be fooled into believing a system sounds good when it sounds bad. I'd save a lot of time or money. It's easy to "fool" oneself on a blind or short-term listening session. That is why the gold standard is long term evaluation. It's ...
How Electricity Actually Works
@jea48 , I am going to start with a simple explanation. There are probably people much better at me in teaching this topic. However, I think some basics will move you much farther ahead: - Electrons are charged particles. An electric field will ...

Well, deludedaudiophiles stated the divide quite clearly and repeatedly, the measurement crowd doesn’t believe we can trust in our individual sensory perceptions to make best decisions.   You misinterpret what I am saying. Sensory perception is ...
objective vs. subjective rabbit hole
What if they give you two glasses of the same wine and tell you they are different or put different labels on them. You then go on to describe how those two glasses are different when they are exactly the same. Personally I think the subjective/o...

In SS or Class-D amps one wants pretty stunning measurements. Otherwise even 90-100 dB+ SINAD can sound distressing depending on the TYPE of distortion. In a tube amp, one could have a SINAD of say 60 and it would sound pretty likeable...

I found this mindset short sighted and shallow  when advocated by the late Julian Hirsch decades ago and certainly even more so more so today.   Things change. I think that was the 70s? We didn't have cell phones, or even personal computers. ...
objective vs. subjective rabbit hole
Since we have not created full AI we have no real idea of how it will "think" and behave. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately we will find out.

You can take several examples of audio components that are capable of performing this unaltered waveform function. Yet when listened to, it’s clearly recognized that each of them have their own sonic signature or fingerprints.   This is imposs...
