Any new Opus 21 onwers?

$800 Integrated
The Classe CAP 80 is a very good amp in that price range (used) and I think fits your desired sound characteristics.
Audiogoners Anonymous?
Sean, Zaikesman, those are two of the funniest posts I've seen, I laughed out loud! "... it is doing all of the typing that kills me" is great. I was going to say again that I don't have a problem, but here I am at 6:30 AM, typing away, so maybe...
Audiogoners Anonymous?
I have a solution to your problem -get rid of the girlfriend. I am a bachelor and have no one to tell me that I have a problem, so I think this means that I don't have one, doesn't it? Maybe I'm just still in the denial stage.
My wife says yes Help what to upgrade next?
I used to own a Miles and I liked it a lot. I would also recommend upgrading your power and cables. For interconnects and speaker cables, I recommend trying Harmonic Technology, which I have had good luck with. The last thing I would do is buy a p...
How do YOU justify this hobby?
For me, it's cheap therapy!
Finger Print Removal on Aluminum Faceplates
I have used rubbing alcohol with good results, though I'm not sure that this wouldn't be harmful for some surfaces.

Three small floorstanders that should work in a small room that I have heard and like:Audio Physic Spark IIIThiel 1.5Proac 1.5I'm curious to see what others recommend since I'm kinda lookin too.
Why low sensitivity speakers?
Karls, just saw your last comment. Good point. It is the "suspension compliance" along with the "acoustic compliance" that results in the lower resonance of the system. I think we've got it figured out!
Why low sensitivity speakers?
Gs5556, I guess it's how you look at it. The people designing speakers with a high sensitivity don't have "limited bass response" as a design goal, just like people designing a speaker with good bass response don't have "low sensitivity" as a desi...
Why low sensitivity speakers?
Thanks Karls, I think I have read this somewhere as well. Rives, with all due respect, I don't think the frequency response of the driver actually has anything to do with its sensitivity. With regard to efficiency, this is not exactly the same as s...
Tubes Do It -- Transistors Don't.
I always like these threads. Anyway, I'll chime in from the SS camp. As Detlof said, I think both types of amps are getting closer, and there are some great amps out there, from both religions. Though I'm still a SS guy (everyone claims I'll chang...

What percentage do you spend on each component?
I purposely left out power conditioning as a component since people with a setup like TWL will move the averages quite a bit. I guess we might want to include PCs in the calculation though. For me that's only about 1%. I want to add up the numbers...
What percentage do you spend on each component?
I actually mistated my question a little. I didn't mean to say "what did you allocate?" but rather "how did it end up?", since I don't think most of us plan how much we're gonna spend ahead of time.
