Why are low impedance speakers harder to drive than high impedance speakers
This is a very informative thread. I've benefitted from it. Thanks.
Center channel questions
@keis It's not clear whether it's your TV or your 2 channel stereo is high end. In any event, for as good as the picture is on high-def TVs, the audio can be awful. Even on high end TVs. Check the Audio Output settings on the TV. You may have it s...
Getting good sound from MacBook via DAC.
@jetmek I’m thinking it has to do with the music file format in Itunes but Im not sure. It does make a difference it you’re comparing playing a CD and comparing the sound quality to the same album purchased and downloaded through iTunes. Make sure...
Digital Disorientation
@e012389I found good information on this site. Its focus is on the technology and the "how to" rather than opinions. http://www.thewelltemperedcomputer.comAnother site that is good but quite large is:http://computeraudiophile.comPlenty of opinions...
Question on hearing
@psag I think there's still plenty of emotions to be mined from music even after suffering aging and hearing loss. While I don't experience the marijuana induced epiphanies of my youth any longer, there is still music that engages me. Maybe it set...
Tidal has started streaming MQA encoded albums
I have had luck with the free Real VNC app running on my iMac and iPad.  Using it now to browse the Tidal Masters library running over there on my iMac.
Tidal has started streaming MQA encoded albums
Hey @aberyclark If you can get a PC (or Mac) running the Tidal app connected to your DAC, it's worth the (temporary) futzing. I'm hearing Bonham's kick drum and bass quivers I totally missed before. Enjoy!
Liner notes in a streaming age
@77jovian I use Allmusic.com to get fairly good coverage of artist's bios, album discography, and critical popularity. For me, the quality of info is even worth tolerating their popups and endless sidebar videos. Good stuff to drill down to.

What are you using to listen to Tidal? When I listen via the Tidal app on my iMac, the album's credits are available through the Album Info menu accessed by clicking on the three horizontal dots on the Play/Favorite/Share line just below artist pi...
Best Subwoofer Connection
Well, there you go. Once I saw your current loudspeakers I figured that you would be going in that direction. Still, given the high-quality of the crossovers in the JL E110, you have plenty of options down the road. And perhaps adding a second sub ...
Anyone having trouble with Tidal cutting out?
@theo is right. When experiencing network issues, it is always a good idea to disconnect the modem, router, and switches from power. Switching them off or resetting them isn't sufficient. Then bring the network back on line one device at a time, w...

Best Subwoofer Connection
The sub has a crossover frequency knob that you will use to adjust the crossover point - that frequency at which all signals above it go to the power amp and all signals below go to the sub.  This is adjustible between 30Hz and 130Hz with 80Hz bei...
