Subwoofer and preamp output impedance Thanks everyone. I went a different route. I bought a Minidsp Flex with its own sub outputs, so the issue has been resolved. The Minidsp also allows me to widen my sub search beyond models with integrated room correction.
Minidsp connectivity issue erik_squires thanks for the reply. According to Bluesound, the maximum bitrate is 24/96.
Minidsp connectivity issue mahler123 Thanks for the reply, that is the signal path I'm trying to with no luck.
Streamer with variable digital output I am still not convinced that any of the streamers mentioned or recommended in this thread, other than the Node, have the VARIABLE DIGITALOUTPUT (not screaming just emphasizing) required by the GAN1. None of the documentation explicitly states tha...
Streamer with variable digital output I appreciate the many varied replies here. In the end I conclude that the Bluesound Node is the only streamer guaranteed to work with the Gan1. I'm fine with that as I can't imagine doing much better for $1800 plus one's choice of speakers. Tha...
Streamer with variable digital output My research tells me Allanblissett is correct. The streamers I investigated appear to have fixed level digital outputs. I don’t know if other responders know otherwise or didn’t read my post carefully. It's an unusual circumstance. Seeking clari...
Streamer with variable digital output Thanks Fuzztone for the helpful response and advice. Dean Palmer, I was curious about alternatives to the node.
Streamer with variable digital output Okay. Thank you for the help.
Streamer with variable digital output Please allow me to reiterate. This is a Gan1 amp/power dac. It has a digital input only. There are no analog inputs and there is no volume control. I am curious about the existence of streamers with variable digital ouput. Thanks.
The Distortion of Sound The demonstrations at 12:00 are examples of dynamic range compression, not bit compression...all done by the same artists and recording engineers complaining on the video.
What started you on the path to being audionut? I was chatting with neighbors in their living room when someone started playing a trumpet over in the corner. I looked to see who it was but the only thing over there was a Vienna Acoustics Beethoven.
A Shout-Out for Grado Service Agreed. My puppy chewed the foam pads and another part of my SR325's. I contacted Grado and a week later had both replacement parts my mailbox free of charge. Oh, and by the way, they're great headphones.
Help with hum Zman,I tried your tip without success. I did eliminate the hum when I touched a wire grounded to the pre to the (+) speaker terminal of either amp. I realize that is not a realistic solution but may help someone offering advice.
Amp advice sought for Coincident Total Victory After the above post, it dawned on me that I should be taking the electrical data while playing a 60 Hz test tone. The results with max gain from the preamp: Voltage across the amp inputs- 3.7 V AC. Voltage across the speaker terminals - 8.5 V ACC...
Amp advice sought for Coincident Total Victory Thanks everyone, now I am more confused than ever:). After reading the replies, I took some measurements. WIth full gain (0.7 V AC input) to one amp and the other turned off, my Extech spl meter (c weighting, slow response) read only 85 dB both at... |
