Tekton Double Impacts
I will come to the defense of @shadorne  's post for a number of reasons most of which I sincerely believe (my opinion) are for the benefit of this thread and those who own Tekton speakers, and not the post per se.He clearly makes the comparison...
New Yggdrasil - First (and second) Impressions
Using an isolation platform and footers. There are many options.I have the SR Tranquility Base as the platform. And both the Anvil Turntable Footers and Ingress RollerBlocks have made positive differences in overall performance (as did the SR MIGs...
New Yggdrasil - First (and second) Impressions
@gdhal   You are receiving good advice and suggestions from the previous posters. The 15 day return window is really too short to evaluate the Yggy properly. It really applies if you just don't care for the sound performance when you first set it u...
Tekton Double Impacts
@manati   I enjoyed reading your write-up on your new DIs. Thanks for sharing your system and your experience. Great remark regarding "The law of maximizing return"
Tekton Double Impacts
@baranyi   and @teajay   Thanks for the additional information and commentary. Very helpful! Any thoughts regarding a parallel 2A3 (paired with the SE)? I believe Triode offers one and perhaps Aric is open to building one?
Tekton Double Impacts
@baranyi   Thanks so much for sharing your impressions from the listening session at Ezra's home.Does @teajay  concur with your take on the 2A3 pairing with the Ulfs? It was my understanding that he feels the LTA Triode pairing is 'perfection' for...
Preamp for ATC SCM 19v2 and Merrill Thor mono's?
@kddusing Can you elaborate more about the differences between the two? I strongly considered the Rhumba 1.2 but opted for the Pass XP-20 for reasons other than and in addition to sound quality / performance. The LTA pre is getting positive coverag...
KEF Reference 207/2s, 3s, or Blade 2s
I have seen the Blades on a heavier discount demo/used through dealers, than the 2s.
KEF Reference 207/2s, 3s, or Blade 2s
@dbphd   Someone on another thread recently posted something very appropos ... (wish I could remember which thread regarding what I will say)....much more elegantly.Factor time into your equation (hearing ability, life-span, etc) and I'd say the c...
Is using streaming services worthy of an audiophile?
I say this as a fan and exclusive user of Tidal/Roon.One difference is immersion or lack thereof, and the rewards derived from a commitment to listen to an album in it's entirety.Having physical media generally encourages one to take in the whole ...
It's European invasion
Geoff, you are off your game today. What's up...usually so sharp. The waves were detected in 2015 and announced in 2016. The work to do so started much much earlier. It was their work that made the detection possible and was recognized. And one memb...
It's European invasion
I don't disagree. Innovation continues in the US.The Nobel generally displays latency with respect to the sciences. The physicists you refer to began their work in the 1980s. It will be interesting to see who wins in ~ 35 years. That will be telli...
It's European invasion
Geoff, we didn't eat enough crystals in our breakfast cereal. : )
It's European invasion
It's global, really. We 'Americans' (I'm assuming you meant the US - though I happily include North and South, Arctic to Antarctic) remain innovative as do all other people across our planet. I believe this is a very good thing.
Tekton Double Impacts
Absolutely. I'd also add the two ww's. Toga party at teajay's, anyone? : )One barn has been lit. So there is a word of caution amidst the joking.
