I Was Considering Active, Then I Watched This ... Teo seems HighO! It’s a compromise to have active speakers and is technology mostly embraced by the professional audio sound people. They listen for frequencies, not tonal shadings or micro dynamics...certainly not for the differences in instrum...
How to select a good Speaker Cable How? Try it. But since you asked...Audioquest Rocket 33’s are unbelievably great for the price and outperform many overpriced cables. I’ve owned them...the overpriced stuff. There is a place for some expensive cables, but for most Audiophiles A...
Constant noisy tubes maybe go solid state? Krell K300i...Class A sound, 150w/ch @8ohms....under rated power and so much like a high powered tube amp...without the haze or glare.
Auditioned Magico A3 - VERY DARK... I tend to agree with the slightly shaded, more reticent sound of the Magico’s. I went with the 800 Diamonds instead....just so much there there!!
I Was Considering Active, Then I Watched This ... Steve is a veteran and is to be respected. For monitoring applications, active is fine. For ultimate results, outboard amplification is preferred...because you choose the amp!! It’s that simple.
B&W vs. Sonus Faber I have the 802D3’s and they can put you right into the studio or venue where the music was made...startlingly clear, dynamic and full of presence!! Image placement and solidity are uncannily realistic. Of course my REV MIT Cables from Joe Abrams...
Does Power Cord Require Burn-In To Sound Good? Depends on the cord...MIT Oracle or REV AC 2 from Joe Abrams may take a hundred hours or so due to parallel networks but mostly for wire and insulation to loosen up. Everything sounds better after it’s been used awhile!
Looking to buy a quality integrated $10,000 budget. But I also have a world class DAC 😉
Looking to buy a quality integrated $10,000 budget. The new Krell K300i gets you there without mods...$8000 list so your Pathos wt upgrades at $7600 is about right!
Looking for more detail in a speaker I had the 802D2’s...my Krell Vanguard Digital drove them extremely well...400w/ch @ 4ohms. I may have a buyer tonight for $2500. It is mint and sweet...think fast. Msrp was $5500 but actually went up a bit before K300i came out. For $2500 it ...

DO CABLES REALLY MATTER? ...also getting an AC-2 REV HG Power Cord for trial from Joe. Going to see what it can unleash from my Krell K300i!
DO CABLES REALLY MATTER? Thought I would have speaker cables last weak but won’t see them till next week, however the REV50 XLR’s are burning in nicely! Using a free pair of Audioquest Rocket 33 BiWire cables my B&W dealer gave me for now. Very open, spacious and dy...
