How to select a good Speaker Cable I have a vast experience with actually owning more equipment and cables in various houses than can be dreamt of by your small....anyway, I have a world of knowledge in me that can be applied to various issues pertaining to audio. There are certai...
How to select a good Speaker Cable @b4icu Your DF calculation, while doing no harm and perhaps optimizing one aspect of making a proper connection, is overly simplistic and has no direct relationship to the effects the cable inherently impresses upon the net sound of your system. ...
*WHITE PAPER* The Sound of Music - How & Why the Speaker Cable Matters Blah blah blah....so many people with so much advice and self assuredness. Most have not laid down tons of cash over the years exploring all the different cable designs with various systems and environments. Most of the advice is from a limited ...
Remarkably better sound possible with just 1 system component change? @chandybe Ok then let’s go with your balls to the wall lifestyle! The speakers you have do not fit that sort of environment. It seems to me you would really enjoy speakers that deliver a more dynamic, punchy room energizing sound. I would go JB...
Remarkably better sound possible with just 1 system component change? That room is a hot mess with way to many reflective surfaces and balls ⚽️. Jeez...you sit far to far away, so forget about low level listening. How many speakers are hiding there behind the muck? Do a curtain drop over the left wall, move closer...
Can I leave speaker jumpers in? Realize already that the definition, detail, air and space that I heard before the jumpers were put in is gone! Bad idea 👎
Can I leave speaker jumpers in? I’m trying the jumpers in, even while using BiWire cables. Initially a little more laid back presentation. Using MIT Magnum jumpers with MIT REV 60 cables. Fun experiment!
Integrated Amp Question for a Newbie to the Forum Actually, the B&W 603S2’s are out ...maybe with new midrange and tweaks they did it could work! $2000 pair and 30 day free returns from B&W direct.
Integrated Amp Question for a Newbie to the Forum I owned the 4329’s and they were exactly what you desire...the L100’s are ok but not as dynamic. The B&W budget range won’t do it IMO. Klipsch May be a possibility as well...very lively and engaging with real presence!
Harley quote I am the 5th group as well 🙂
Harley quote This kinda sums up the whole Shabang!!Jonathan Valin wrote the following essay in response to the Point/Counterpoint in the last issue, in which Robert Greene and I presented diametrically opposed views of the roles of listening and measurement in...
Harley quote I would suggest that Audiophiles are neurodivergent. We fixate, hear things others don’t, obsess and repeat things over and over! We are all on the Autism Spectrum, just depends how neurotic we are...happy listening!
Okay, How Important Is Speaker Break In? (Dynaudio Contour 60i) Break in takes months with normal listening. Assume you addressed placement, power and cables. The Dyn C4’s I had were very revealing of all changes....cables made or broke them. The balance of sound will change over time. If still not satisfa...
Mágico M6 vs Big Wilson speakers Something else to also consider...I have owned large speakers, such as Dunlavy SC-5’s, Dynaudio C4’ and ML and Maggies. Certainly the box designs have the hardest job of getting out of their own way acoustically speaking. Being able to establish...
Harley quote Mahgister has it...cookie cutter, pre fab, advance engineered audio-anything is not a recipe for success in any given environment or for any particular audiophile. Gotsta play around, mix it up and experiment till the synergy hits! |
