What is the best Beatle Song
Another vote for "Tomorrow Never Knows". The greatest of all Ringo grooves. The funny thing is, when I first bought "Revolver" I listened to it for over a year and ALWAYS skipped that track. Too weird for me. It didn't sound like anything I'd ever...
Grounding Hum
Is the IC that runs from your preamp to amp shielded? I recently had this same problem and discovered that it was said IC and not the TT ground. Switching to a different IC did the trick for me.
name that tube
Audiofeil,I know you know much more about tubes than I do, but I'd always read (or at least thought I had) that you could use a 5Y3 with either a 2a3 or 45, and that it is the 5v4 that should not be used with a 45 triode. Am I mistaken?

Best short-lived band?
Blind Faith. For sure. Absolutely. Not even close. "Do What You Like" is worth the price of admission on it's own. Ginger Baker's solo is BY FAR the best rock solo of that era...probably of all time. And don't go all Neil Pert on me.

Silliest audiophile equipment of all time?
Maybe they can "only" afford a $140,000 home because they spent $150,000 on their equipment.

Girlfriends and wifes, how do YOU cope?
That's easy. Whatever was the real cost, simply multiply it by 10%, which then becomes the new real cost. The only exception is when you sell a piece of equipment. Then you multiply the selling price by 300%, which then become the new price for wh...
Cheap tweaks...What would YOU reccomend?
go to Home Depot and get those round forms used for pouring concrete columns. Place one in every corner. The 8" diameter form seems to work best (also come in 10" and 12"). They're four feet high and cost 5.95 each. If you want a fuller effect sta...
