Are linear tracking arms better than pivoted arms?
Wow Phil, thanks for the great ride through a specific point of time in audio history. Reading your post really allowed me to feel a small portion of what it must have been like at the time - very exciting.Unfortunately, it's just left me wanting ...

Are linear tracking arms better than pivoted arms?
I own both a unipivot and linear air-bearing tonearm - Scheu Tacco & Cartridge Man Conductor, respectively. For what it's worth, I found the Conductor to be easier to fine tune than the unipivot, but that partly has to do with Scheu's design. ...
Abbey Roads Studio Closing?
02-17-10: Jayboits not a yard sale It eventually will be if the buyer wants to use it for something else. Actually, all that stuff would be auctioned off. Think of what it would fetch as memorabilia.
Audion Silver Night PX-25 vs. Almarro 318B vs....
Hi Greg,The guy who I bought my JMR Twins from used a 2A3 SET with them and loved it, but I just cannot see 2-3wpc ever working for me. They will run out of gas on complex or dynamic passages of music. I'm glad you gave a reference point of EL-84'...

Audion Silver Night PX-25 vs. Almarro 318B vs....
Well, I owned a 6wpc Art Audio PX-25 and the Almarro A318B both at the same time with JMR Twins. I did borrow some Trentes for a short period.Unless you listen strictly to acoustic guitar, folk, and chamber music in a small room at fairly close di...
Best Amp to drive my Apogee Stages?
Gallant_diva,Your system honestly inspired me to seriously look into Apogees, especially a pair of Divas. My next system upgrade is going to be built around them. I just need to move some place with a big enough room, first.

Best Amp to drive my Apogee Stages?
02-12-10: Clavilit would be very interesting to realize a blind test especially with all people who claim class D is not good enoughDo any of the current Class D offerings have the same, or equal, continuous current output capability as the late 8...
High Current SS amps with input impedance = 200K
Thanks Guido,For some reason, whenever I read "high current" I always picture the pure Class A massive heatsink monsters from the late 80's/early 90's like the Class DR-3VHC, Levinson ML-2, Krell KSA-100, etc.I guess that caused me to associate hi...
High Current SS amps with input impedance = 200K
Mapman(or someone), correct me if I'm wrong, but my perception has been that IcePower amps are not necessarily "high current" amps, being more of the voltage amplifier type.
Question regarding reputation of SOTA tables
Hey Sirspeedy,Where would you rank the SOTA Millenia in pool of big fish turntables? And is it a significant step above the Cosmos and Nova to justify the expenditure?
Name your lame duck artist........
Paul, obviously that moron didn't know that most bands fake the Rock & Roll JD chug and fill the bottle with tea.Seriously, that had to leave him with one hell of hangover and a bad case of the whiskey shits.
Name your lame duck artist........
Aaaaah, the Who at at LA Coliseum, 1982. That was a great show as far as I can remember - a lot of hallucinogens going 'round, not that I partook ;0)You're right, Cassandra needs to abandon her eclectic crap and just start crushing the classic sta...
