Ricky64 -- I don't have a preamp. My preamp was the Transporter and is now the PW.Shadorne -- 1) That could be possible. The XLR of the PW does 6Vrms vs. Transporter 3Vrms. 2) The Transporter / PW controls the volume. So far havent had any problem...

My real question is how will it compare to the Modwright transporter? All the reviews on that say it is amazing... I have a regular transporter right now but am debating between upgrading it or getting the PW. 
Leave solid state amps on? Or turn off everytime?
This forum is amazing. Thanks for all the valuable advice! My amps run cool and I believe they are class D so for now I will go with leaving them on.

Hm... this is all very interesting. In regards to power usage, if you leave a SS amp on, isn't it not using very much power if it is just sitting idle vs. actually playing music? I would think that if it isn't playing music it shouldnt be using ve...

Yah I have heard that expensive cables arn't really worth it. So theoretically silver cables are supposed to sound harsher on the high end? I will probably steer clear of that then. Signal cables look good esp for the price. Any experiences with t...
