Paradigm Studio 100 vs Studio 60 I preferred the 60s over the 100s. I've moved on since to Aerials. Anyone want a used pair of 60s? :-)
Which phonostage is a heavenly match for a XV-1S NO! That is not true. There is nothing intrinsically better about a phonostage inside the pre-amp. In fact, there are many reasons to not put the phonostage in the same box with the same power supply. It is ALWAYS about implementation.
Servo Controlled Arm IMHO, of course. :-)
Servo Controlled Arm Again, why do it at all? I would file this under "gimmick". That's all I'm saying.
Servo Controlled Arm What arm would that be? I don't know of any arm that doesn't self correct based on stylus position in the groove. Granted, some may do it better than others. If I want to go down stream in a kayak, do I handle the paddle myself? Or do I through a l...
Servo Controlled Arm I do understand those points, but it is still constantly hunting for the correct groove position based on reaction to what has already occurred. I just don't understand the "why do it at all". Perhaps there are others, but the only reason I can th...
Single vs Dual Subs Ditto! And with two subs it is actually easier to integrate with a 2 channel system, IME.
Servo Controlled Arm What is the microprocessor, and the servo system, using for sensor feedback? It has to know where it is in the groove at all times. I'm betting the sensor I'm looking for is the stylus which is then sending minute pressure changes, most likely to ...
Servo Controlled Arm I have my suspicions about this approach. The easiest way to "break" this concept is to put on an LP that is not perfectly centered. Each time the eccentricity comes around the stylus gets slammed from one side to the other because the servo canno...
Entry level tube amps? I doubt you will accomplish your goal with a change in amps only, because I doubt that what you wish to hear is on the CDs. And, straighten up that plasma! ;-)
MintLP arc protractor Just think if it this way, Doak. Now you have a tool that can provide repeatability. :-)Oh, and don't stop at just getting the arc correct. There could well be more improvements waiting for you.
In the Air tonight DRUMS - phil collins on LP :-)! :-)!It'll never work until they figure out how to shrink his head (ego).
Amp for Aerial 10T Taming the bass is the secret with the 10t. ;-)
What do you see as the downside of tubes? Phd, for me to continue would make me guilty of what you have done that I object to. These forums will become what all of us tolerate. You guys want political (Yes, discussions about GM and global warming ARE political) discussion, go right ahead....
What do you see as the downside of tubes? Unsound, perhaps you don't see that the majority of the posts on this thread are answering the question "what do I not like about tubes". After reading the original post by Krauti, the question being asked is really "if I own tubes, what do I need... |
