Are singers musicians? Here's how I see it:A singer that cannot play a musical instrument is a singer and not a musician. A person that can both play an instrument and sing is both a singer and a musician and if they can write music, they are a composer as well. The hum...
Why do Audiophiles feel the need... For someone to disagree with everyone on this thread without even reading the posts makes little sense. It only leads me to believe that they have little to contribute because they Knownothing!
Why do Audiophiles feel the need... Couldn't agree with you more. For the most part, they probably think they are being helpful. What bugs me even more is when someone posts a thread which is hijacked by two or three other posters and the dialogue between them is totally unrealated ...
How can you tell if a recording is in mono? Unfortunately, some of the greatest music recorded was in the "Mono" era. I guess one has to weigh whether it is worth it to listen to a great performance even though the sound quality is not up to snuff.
How can you tell if a recording is in mono? Gawdbless, that could probably work, but it would be easier to just use the balance control on your preamp or receiver.
Down grading with better /= sound Just goes to show that more money does not necessarily translate to better sound quality. Remove the dollar factor and your downgrades were actually upgrades!
Beatles covers: better than originals? Not better, but a completely different interpretation, bluesy and soulful- "With a little help from my Friends" by Joe Cocker

Equipment failure with Dakiom tweaks? I used the Dakiom with my tube preamp and tube power amp and never had any equipment failure. Sold them after a month, I didn't like the effect it had on the midrange in my system. Before selling them, I tried them on a midfi system my wife uses a...
US only sales WHY??? I can understand sellers not wanting to sell outside of the United States. I have sold overseas and have had a few problems with the countries of Italy, Argentina, and even Canada. It takes forever to get the shipment through customs. I sent a pow...

what is the theory behind maple stands and racks? Steven, I am curious as I have a maple platform for my power amp and was under the impression that the Maple did absorb the vibration created by the amplifier and any external forces. If the vibration is not being absorbed by the Maple or the comp...
Best driving music. I second Radar Love by Golden Earring, makes you want to put the pedal to the metal! Also like Deep Purples "Highway Star". |
