Thiel Owners
Happy Weekend Jfant!  I have to share something that I've wanted to share for a while now.  Every time I listen to my Vandersteen Quatro's, I'm reminded of the CS 2's from the early 80's.  I find it so interesting that Richard Vandersteen and Jim ...
Speakers to hang on to for LIFE
Vandersteen Quatro's will most probably be my last set of speakers. I can't afford anything more and the Quatro CT's bass set up is NEEDED in my room as it's difficult.  Best sounding speaker I've had in the house to date.  Wish I could afford the...
Golden Ear award for $55 speaker tweak
Duke, it’s a great subject. Vandersteen speakers have all used felt around their tweeters since 1977. No need to tweak lol.
Thiel Owners
Observation in this long standing thread...  Theil and Vandersteen owners are similar.  They are here for the love of music, more than the love of gear (which we also love).  It's about companies who buck the trend and make what they feel is gear ...
Speaker sensitivity vs SQ
Guys, it's simply not true to make a statement that a higher sensitivity speaker is more costly to make.  Drivers, cabinet material, R&D, spikes, connectors, wire, glues, finishes.... and of course how many points dealers get to sell them if s...

Jafant and others.  I have the new Vandersteen mono blocks in the house. I had two dedicated, individually grounded 20amp circuits installed behind the system.  The audio will all be on the same circuit.  I'll have the TV, Router (off an LPS) runn...
Vandersteen 2CE Signature II: Is it worth the price of $2700? Why are so many for sale?
Actually in speaking with Richard, time and phase correct speakers should never be used with spikes/stands that move at all (ie polymers and rubber).  He even makes special spike shoes that have a special felt on the bottom for speakers that are o...
Ayre AX-5 Integrated Amplifier
LOL...hi Jafant. Hope you are well.  Yes the amp is incredible.  I'm about to post mine as I just got a pair of Vandersteen Mono blocks for the Quatro CT's....I'm sooo pumped, but will miss teh Ayre as it's been a beast.  I'll have to send back to...

Not Thrilled with Vandersteen 2CE Sigs - where is the first place to work on?
Guys, I have done that comparison of a pair of 2's with covers on and covers removed.  It was in the late 90's at a dealer who had to install new socks for a customer so we started to play.  None of us hear any difference.  Richard knows how to de...
Not Thrilled with Vandersteen 2CE Sigs - where is the first place to work on?
So happy for you. Glad you talked to a pro who uses the. Daily as well as other lines. Set up is so key to any speaker.
Michi X-5 Integrated amplifier (Where to buy?)
I love Audio Connection.  Johnny is an honest guy who had soem top lines and knows what goes best together.  He's more than worth calling. I live in CT and he's my dealer for most of my gear.  Give him a shout. You won't be let down.
Not Thrilled with Vandersteen 2CE Sigs - where is the first place to work on?
Teh Vandersteen’s are actually very easy to drive. I’ve driven them with lower and higher power amps and all have sounded incredible. I’ve never heard anyone say they sounded like crap. Most of the time it’s poor recordings. Way too often we are he...
Speaker sensitivity vs SQ
I don't know how to quote posts, but in reading this, I hope all have read what Tomic601 has posted above.  It answers a lot of why some top designers have lower sensitivity speakers, but are still very easy to drive, even with lower powered tube ...
Balanced xlr interconnects for ARC Ref 6se
I’m a balanced guy too. I like the Audioquest interconnects as well as Cardas with them.  Early all the dealers I know with AR show with the AQ cables. Good luck
