Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
I like the larger diameter cables for heavier gear.  They just never snap when you use them to move things.  Sometimes those cheap and thin ones stretch too much when you need them to hold up an 80 lb mono block.
Cardas: Cross vs. Reference and Clear
I"m not the biggest Cardas fan.  I like their new top of line. I don't remember the name, but I heard it a few weeks ago and was impressed. The irony is that Cardas supplies custom cables to many of the cable manufacturers in the world, lol.    Ge...
Upgrade path from Wilson WattPuppy 7s? - seeking advice
I just love great music.  I personally don't care what speaker or amps are used to achieve it. Right now I'm into Vandersteen big time as they are the only one's on the market for MY EARS and ROOM that are coherent, tonally on, disappear and throw...

Parrot, when did I ever say your system is defective?  I'd never use that term.  We all hear differently.  Systems, rooms and hearing are all subjective.  I PERSONALLY feel that cables have a signature sound.  Maybe I'm not typing things properly,...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD
Matt, I"m sure we will talk later today, but it's now time to introduce the Brinkmann Nyquist.  As you know, I loved this DAC the first time I heard it. It was possibly the most pleasing DAC I've head to date.  I'm not sure if it was the most reso...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
Parrot, not all are tone controls.  That's the reason I am using only the Audioquest cables. They have been the only ones I've had in my room that are just neutral. I've had the Odin and other top of the line cables.  If you need to use cables as ...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD
Al, thanks.  Yes you told me about the isolators.  I just remember reading on CA in a thread that the optical isolation is better, but I'm more than willing to try the isolators as they only cost about 65 or so if I recall.  Yes, I thought WW sold...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD
Now that I have a hard wired, fast ethernet connection in the room, I'm going to set up the optical isolation and go from there.  I may try the ground units Al has brought up also.  I'm not sure what ethernet cables I'll be using though. I have lo...
Design a $60,000 Speaker - Start here
I know a few companies use laser technology to be able to read how the cones are responding to various things.  Some are even posted on Youtube for you to see.
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD
Guys there is a very good thread or two on Computer Audiophile about MQA.  Charlie Hansen who owns Ayre and some big time reviewers on the threads and it's not pretty regarding MQA.  A lot of it is stuff I've heard in the past and may put me in th...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD
All good guys.  All the politics get cleared up pretty quickly.  Yes, an amazing thread and now that Matt has the Davinci burning in and a few cool (expensive for many) servers, it will be interesting if the Aurender N10 can stay at the top of the...
Design a $60,000 Speaker - Start here
Vandersteen's cost to build the 7 mk 2 (not even including the aluminum woofers or the carbon fiber/balsa wood cones/driver that are built in-house and sent out to make the drivers to spec):  $1,800 for the mid and $2,400 for the mid-bass.  The op...
2017 ‘Keeper’ speakers under - $25K
Guys, Maybe I miss understood the original posts and that can easily happen.  As most know I do have MS and cognitive issues, so often times I do misunderstand.  Jim, condescension is how I read your posts, but maybe I was wrong. I'll reread and i...
2017 ‘Keeper’ speakers under - $25K
Thanks for the explanation.  Vandersteen does list theirs right under the picture of each speaker when you scroll down the page.  Very easy to read and understand, lol.  Funny you bringing up the foreign markets.  I have spoken to many companies a...
Journey ending speakers
Hifiman put it best.  Mr Green, you are a manufacturer posting on Audiogon and should have that in your signature or point that out in your post.  Just using your name doesn't work.  Yes, in your mind, your older designs work nicely and that's awe...
