Review Audioquest Hurricane (part 1) The Niagara power units are the best I've heard to date and that includes some of the exotics. You have no loss of dynamics. It's the first one I've heard that I can say that about. Some claim to not change dynamics, but the ones I've had in al...
Planar/panel speakers to replace Carver Amazings bdp24. Please take this the right way. Nothing is the best value or the best, unless the person listening feels it is. To you it is, but to many it's not. I have owned a pair for a short period of time and have heard the latest variant. It's a ...
Review Audioquest Hurricane (part 1) Try the cryo wire and you will also probably hear a positive difference. There are some filters on the main panel also, but I don't have them handy to share that link. My friend has done that. that said, the Hurricane's have made such a major di...
Speakers under $5000 maintained a reputation for quality sound over the last 15 years. Seems like both are in Absolute Sounds. Often I notice great components are in one and not the other. Very political and that's why I rarely read them anymore. JMHO.
Planar/panel speakers to replace Carver Amazings They are really good doing what they do. Credible guys and worth doing business with if they can help you. If not, then someone may want them to fix them themselves. To answer your question, I'd audition the Maggies, Vandersteen's, Quads and th...
Are spendor speakers competitive in sound quality to KEF, B&W, ProAC, Audio Physic Yup, they have always made an easy to listen to speaker. Great minds like the harbeth's and a bit on the sweet side of things. I was a long time Proac owner until I went with the Vandy's, but I have enjoyed both Harbeth and Spendors for that lusc...
Speakers under $5000 maintained a reputation for quality sound over the last 15 years. Vandersteen's have always kept their value as well or better than most since they don't change that often. They are a top value to begin with (at all price levels), so they are going to always be a good value on the open market. Companies that c...
Have you ever changed speakers to expereince a different "soundscape" or presentation?? I have auditioned many many top speakers. I have fallen in love with the new line of Vandersteen carbon's as they are at the most correct tonally that I've auditioned. I have owned Proac's, Maggies, Apogee's, Paradigm, Linn and a few other speak...

Vandersteen Sub woofers v Rythmik Subs I loved those old Denon TT's. They looked great and were built like tanks, lol. I used only Technic's and Stanton cart when DJ'ing or at the radio station.
Vandersteen Sub woofers v Rythmik Subs LMAO...Those were one of the first high end speakers I heard when I was 9. The local guy where I bought my Yamaha YP211 TT/Grado cart, Yamaha CR 620 receiver and locally made/sold 3 way speakers carried Klipsch. he had phase linear and Crown too...
Vandersteen VLR Wood ..any love for these? I think with the sub 9's it would be fascinating, lol.....sub 3's just a musical full range little system for smaller rooms. How awesome is that???!!!! lol...I agree on the subs as you know ;).... Typically you want a nice overlap of sub and sat...
Vandersteen Sub woofers v Rythmik Subs Rich, I listen to some cool new EMD stuff from Europe that my IEM buddies will send me. Some info down below the 35hz range. The Quatro's are crushing it to be honest. One of my friends purchased 2 more of the older Vandersteen subs and set it ...
Bi-amp through receiver vs pre out to 2 channel for fronts The question still remains, If you have auditioned the amps, which way did it sound best? Forget manuals etc.., it's all in what the ear says. I personally always keep my 2 channel system as simple as possible. Fewer cables and interconnects i... |
