Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade Thanks Z, I get that, but it's also not easy to communicate via net boards. I"m very well known on Oklahoma Sooner internet sports boards and I've been doing it since 97 or so and I often am taken the wrong way. Bottom line is that he wants good a...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD Gear, I love my OSDE. I truly do or I would have sold it. I am also using Steves's old music server with high end AQ cables in balanced mode. It's close, but I expect even more due to high rez. The recordings are all very good too. You mentioned t...
Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade Z, that could easily be it also. Just so many reasons many speakers don't sound the way they should and that's for many brands. Funny as folks talk about how difficult setting up a set of speakers can be, but if you have a great dealer, they'll co...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD Gear, I fully understand. I don't go to shows, or at least I haven't in ages and if I do, it will be to see friends rather than evaluate gear. Would be fun though I'm sure. I agree that I would need to hear in my own system. That's more than fair....
Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade Wlutke,Serious questions. Forget everything else in either of our systems. This probably isn't about the components, but the set up of them. First off did you bring your own music to listen to? If so, do you know the recordings really well? Some r...
Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade Wlutke, honestly, your response didn't bother me at all and that was even before I read the tongue in cheek part. You made the assumption that it would I guess, lol. I never take criticism on boards personally as I only know a few folks here perso...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD I know that Steve is using the XMOS for his new DAC. Gear, I heard the 7's and they just didn't do it for me. Again, there are plenty of digital products that I do like, but I also can't justify the price of some of them as I see too many new prod...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD Matt, thanks for sharing that. I think most of us listen to a lot of digital and that's why we loved your thread to begin with. As you have said trying different speakers in your own home is different from smaller electronics, lol....I like how yo...
Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade Oh, ok, that makes more sense, Sorry...:) Nice set up if you ask me. I would make one recommendation for your system and that's to look into a cable that is more neutral like Audioquest or something like that. I made the switch and am so happy tha...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD I have and love the OSDE/SE. I run them on the Treo's and Ayre AX 5 Twenty. I get all emotion when it's there, but it's not even close to vinyl. I've heard most of these DACS in my system except for the Lamp...I personally have heard them a few ti...
Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade Ok, I'm going to cut and paste your system and let's take if from there as you have some good bones. This thread is still about Treo's still. I've heard Treo's with electronics that are considered HOT...very hot on the upper end and they still did...
Michael Fremer's record cleaning process.... I was about to bid on a slightly used clearaudio matrix to dry my records off or clean the deeply dirty ones before my US bath, but for 199 I wonder if that Record Dr one will be good. Have any of you used it before? I'm sure it's fine to vacuum m...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD Matt, we can figure out a good time to get together. I know that Johnny has the new Rom sig on order and once in, he'll run it straight to break it in for you to hear. He knows that already. I loved the Bricasti when I heard it in an all Tidal sys...
Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade CT here. Yes, I own and LOVE my Treo's. I have the ceramic tweeter and not even the CT version (much smoother and detailed).First off, I use Johnny Rutan and ONLY Johnny Rutan when making decisions. I drive 3 hours to his place to get my gear. I'v...
Michael Fremer's record cleaning process.... Honestly, if you are using a good RCM (vacuum or US), you will be much better off than not using anything or using just a brush. Everyone has opinions and that's all they are. At least do something to keep the vinyl clean and you'll be happy. |
