Mirage M1 Speakers.
I owned M-5Si years ago. They do like power. I used an Aragon 4004 on them and they paired very well. That amp is long in the tooth. What kind of budget are you talking about. If you could swing something like a Parasound A-21, it should work well...
What's the heaviest speaker you've ever owned? What's the tallest?
Legacy Whisper (original version) 63 inches tall and about 215 pounds if memory serves.
Audioquest Storm Series power cables
I draw the line at 6 feet of passive mains cable at the end of the 10 miles or whatever of cable joining your system to the power station.  If the 6 foot of cable makes a difference, why not the 10 miles? Because it is not directly connected to...
How important is spending time with your gear?
If it were possible to have only my speakers, room treatments, and listening chair in the room I would do it. I use physical media and remote controls which make it impractical to have the gear in another room. Both sonic and functional considerat...
Miraga M1 vs Totem Mani-2
Mani 2's with the right amp, and in the right room is a better speaker.    The same can be said about the M-1. My first real a-ha moment in audio was at a dealer that had M-1 Si vertically biamped with a pair of Krell KSA-250s in a large room....
Volume matched inputs on a preamp?
I am not sure about the newer models, but I know BAT's older preamps allowed you to set relative volume level for each input.
Amir and Blind Testing
It would seem that robertdid, atdavid, audio2design, sugabooger, among many other user names, has reinvented himself once again. Same argumentative, condescending approach. It is just amazing that he is that compelled to come back here again and a...
Audiongon Bluebook accuracy
Hifi shark is a good choice for a reasonably clear picture of what items are listed for.  What I found with the Audiogon bluebook when I subscribed several years ago is that average price is not weighted based on age. IOW, if an item were 2 gener...
No love for Legacy Audio
I recently traded a fully active pair of Calibres for a custom pair of Signature SE. They have the new upgraded midrange driver that is seen in the picture of the XD version. Mine don't have the internal amp, but are tri-wire, tri-amp capable with...
Audiogon Question
Don't do it. If it feels iffy, then it is. This has scam written all over it.
CDs And Green Markers. Please Don’t Laugh.
It is amazing that people here are arguing about something that costs less than 5 dollars and a little bit of time. I haven't done it myself, but why is it bothering anyone if someone else chooses to do it? If the price is too steep, maybe you're ...
Bookshelf Speaker For Outdoors
https://www.intelligentaudioproducts.com/index.php/our-products/planterspeakers   I heard their Flagstone model at Axpona a few years ago in a large open atrium. They have a nicely balanced sound and were designed to be outdoors.
It comes with a balance knob?!?! I'll take it!
I had an ARC Reference 1 and Reference 3, both of which had balance controls. Despite symmetrical set up, the sound in my room pulls slightly to the left. The balance control worked exactly as it should and was very useful.
CLASS D MONO AMPS buy ATMASPHERE MUSIC SYSTEMS
Congratulations are definitely in order. I hope to get an opportunity to listen to them in the near future. I expect that they will sound excellent.
