Whest ps.30r
For all intent and purposes, the Whest Ref V is a statement component which James Henriott uses as a test bench to push the envelope and provide 'trickle down' technology to enable him to bring a truly reference, more affordable product to market....
Where do you have your rack?
TimHave a look at my system on 'Done for now'.I spent a long time moving everything around to optimise the sound. Without a doubt, moving the rack to a side wall makes a tremendous improvement to soundstage, imaging and resolution. I had a 50" pla...
Changing from an XV1-S
DcarolHave you considered the Transfiguration Orpheus L?I have had one installed in the latest Graham Phantom II arm for just over a year now. Coupled with a TW Raven One tt and Whest PS.30RDT 'SE', the sound from vinyl is spot-on for my tastes. I...

Speaker isolation or absorbtion - what is best?
Lateley I have had the opportunity to experiment with some products from UK manufacturer Vertex AQ, who approach the problem of vibration transmission within a hi fi system from a novel perspective.I own Avalon Indra speakers supported by their he...
Whest ps.30r
Good theory and probably correct. James does state on his literature on the PS.30 RDT 'SE' that the sound is more 'valve-like'.On the subject of doubling up resistor settigs to use in parallel. I recall reading this in The Stereo Times online revi...
Whest ps.30r
Paperw8I can't really help you with the claims made by the manufacturer of a 70% improvement! This may be just marketing speak!. What I do know, having lived with the RDT and RDT 'SE' models is that the 'SE' is a substantial improvement sonically....
Whest ps.30r
Gents. I have travelled the road from PS.20 to PS.30RDT (missed out the plain vanilla PS.30) and have now lived with the latest PS.30RDT 'Special Edition' for the past nonth or so. My requirement was for a very quiet mc phono stage to use with my ...
What is the Phono stage you have finished with?
Another vote for Whest Audio. James Henriott, the gifted designer and proprietor of this UK company is probably the friendliest, most polite person you will ever meet or deal with in the somewhat idiosynchratic world of high end audio personalitie...
MIT Oracle MA Digital AES/EBU

TW Raven One owners- will this be it ?
I bought a Raven One tt last February and am mightily impressed! I twinned it with a new Graham Phantom II and Transfiguration Orpheus L mc cartridge at the same time and am very happy with no desire to 'upgrade the tt'. I am 53 and the Raven One ...
Bergmann air-bearing turntable at RMAF?
It was the Sindre model I listened to with Transfiguration mc phono cartridge.
Bergmann air-bearing turntable at RMAF?
Back in January I listened to the Bergmann turntable with it's air -bearing arm and pump at the UK importer, Midland Audio Exchange. I can confirm that the unit is silent in operation with the pump on a shelf just below the turntable. Amazing real...
Graham Phantom on TW Acustic Raven?
I fitted the latest Graham Phantom II to my TW Raven One (Transfiguration Orpheus L mc) in June. With a MINT protractor made specially for this combo I found that the Graham spindle jig methos for arm alignment was slightly off. I spent many hours...
