Need help with Blu Ray upgrade I received my Oppo BDP-83SE DVD player and I have tried it in my Home Theater system. It is going to stay. The picture is great what can you say it is BlueRay. Sound-wise it is better defined in the center channel than my Denon DVD-9000. I think t...
Which cartridge for my System? I like the Grado The Statement with Sonic Frontiers Line 3 SE+ and Power 3s. I think is a good match. I am using a LP12 and ARC PH3 because I can not find a Sonic Frontiers PHONO-1.
Need help with Blu Ray upgrade I was not sure how I wanted to connect the blueRay player so I bought the Oppo 83SE.
Tube Pre-amp BAT, ARC, EAR, Sonic Frontiers I was auditioning Magnepan 3.6 to buy. The place was an ARC dealer. I took my Sonic Frontiers Line 3 modified by Chris at the Parts Connection, over $2000.00 mod, sounds better than the ARC LS25 latest. This was using ARCs equipment. I wanted to co...
Possible to Compare the DV XV-1 & Grado Statement? I just bought Grado's The Statement. It is mounted on a Linn table. I really like the sound on Magnepan 3.6s and on B&W 801s(older ones). I have not tried the other cartridge and I am going to spend more on one.
High end tube Preamp under $4k used that competes Look for a used Sonic Frontier Line 3 preamp SE modified by Chris at the Parts Connection. I think it will beat anything $4000.00 and under easily. It is balanced and single ended. Only problem is it takes lots of real estate being a 2 piece design.
Need help with Blu Ray upgrade Is the BDP-83SE balanced? It doen't look like it is. I always thought Krell sounded better balanced. Should I just buy the BDP-83SE and connect it to the Krell with RCA single ended analog cables?I have to buy something now. My DVD 9000 quit today.
Need help with Blu Ray upgrade I was thinking the SE verison of the Oppo 83 is for analog out. I am using the coax out which is a digital bit stream out. Is the SE version really going to help? I guess the other question is should I be thinking of using 6 analog outs instead of...
high end subwoofer...which one tho? I like the Revel B15. I run two B15s and they are front firing. In a small room one would be fine. I had a HSU Research big guy, but it was down firing and caused my wood floor to rattle. I do not have that problem with the front firing B15s and t...

Audio Research VS115 and VT100 Questions ? I would repair what you have. Which version do you have? I have listened to the mark I and mark II. I had a lot of enjoyable hours listening with those amps. I have never heard the VS115. Even if you decide to sell the amp it is better to sell a w...
Connecting a remote server to a high end system That is good to know about Apple Lossless. Do old files need to be deleted and reburned? If I burn to FLAC will the logitech boombox read the files? What software do you use for FLAC? What about storing an image of the CD like an ISO? Not space fr...
Connecting a remote server to a high end system I guess we will order one of the Squeeze BOOM boxes and start with the Kitchen first. The will make my wife happy and give us a chance to build the database of music. Should I use iTunes and Applelossless? I have a Hyper V virtual server running 2...
What do you think about Magnepans 3.6R for me I have the older 801s. My mono-blocs have KT88 tubes instead of the 6550C tubes. The KT88 add about 15 to 20 percent more power. The 8 ohm power is around 285 watts with the KT88s. The 801 were very boomy for 2 weeks while I figured out how to adj...
Revel B15 Second Sub Question If anybody is interested in stacking Revel B15s. I still have this setup with stacked B15s. I have not changed or moved any of the audio equipment. I have had no problems with speakers moving. You can not put DVDs or stuff on top because it will v... |
