A question about the Bryston BDA-3's HDMI inputs Thanks for the response--I didn't think so either, but thought it worth asking. The BDA-3, as I understand it, can only render DSD files via USB, but renders SACD discs via HDMI.
Just upgraded to Fiber Optic feed ( 500Mbps) from Spectrum (250 Mbps) OMG Did they also upgrade your router? I have a sneaking suspicion that this could also be a factor. I'm currently using AT&T Fiber at 300 Mbps and it's pretty good but I'm waiting for a new company (Sonic) to finish building their infrastructure ...
Need Opinions for Different Cable Manufacturers/Cable Designs I have Audience Au24SE speaker cables and RCA interconnects in my system. I'm also using their Studio One jumpers. The Au24SE's are, of course, an older version of these cables but I'm very pleased with them and not in any hurry to upgrade. Previo...
About ready to give up on Roon and my streamer Oops--correction to the above post: the PulseMini doesn't do I2S at all. Don't know what I was thinking....
About ready to give up on Roon and my streamer So it's been a bit less than 6 months since I last updated this thread, and I thought it time to contribute a bit more on this subject. I've done several things to try to iron out the issues: 1. Added a linear power supply to the streamer (Smal...
Looking for comparisons between CD transports Here’s an update: I looked at the various alternatives and from what people have said in various reviews and to keep the budget under control, I’ve added the Shanling ET3 to the system. There was a really good deal offered by their online store so...
If A.I. took the place of musicians, would you listen to it? I feel that I'm qualified to contribute to this discussion, as I've been a professional musician for about 50 years now. We should think about differentiating music generated by A.I. and the performance of it. There is an element of musical perfo...
Problem: DAC or streamer San Francisco east bay help Were you able to solve this problem, finally? I am local to you (just north of Albany) if you still need to try out the DAC/streamer experiment. I have an Innuos PulseMini in my system. It does seem that the difficulties of sharing personal inform...
Ethernet cable for music streaming Oops--small error in the above post: meant to say Audience AU24SE (not 25 'cause there is no such thing) cables. Can't edit anything older than 30 minutes, apparently.
Ethernet cable for music streaming OP here--let’s clear a few things up. To begin with, I am very happy with my amplification and speakers. Other digital media (CDs, DVDs, and TV streaming--I use the same system for everything) sound very good indeed. Here’s my system: Modwright ...
Ethernet cable for music streaming Update: Well, this all took a while to accomplish, but I upgraded the power supply to the one from Small Green Computer, and it did make some difference. However, there was still some way to go before all the issues were solved. 3 days ago I chan...
Looking for comparisons between CD transports I thought that, at this point, it might be helpful to list the rest of my system in hopes that it may provide some insight into which player(s) would best complement it. Modwright KWI 200 integrated Ryan R610 standmount speakers, REL S/2 sub So...
Looking for comparisons between CD transports Thanks, David--that is very useful information. In a sense, I already HAVE a Cambridge Audio transport, that is, my CA CXU referred to above which I'm using as a transport. It's actually pretty good but I think for redbook CDs other transports mig...
Looking for comparisons between CD transports Thanks, everybody, for the information. The S.M.S.L. player looks intriguing, and I might add that one to the list. I don't know if the PS Audio Perfect Wave player is that much better than their Direct Stream player, but I did own the latter for ...
Looking for comparisons between CD transports I’m definitely looking for a transport, not a player. I have a Cambridge Audio CXU (their long discontinued universal disc player) which does an okay job as a CD player/transport and and reads SACDs (though in my system it converts to PCM because ... |
