Opinions - Best ever Adcom model??? Have not had extensive expierience with the big 5802 but,the 5500 is a wonderfully musical amplifier. It all just tooklong break-in and trying out cables and interconnects. I believe Nelson Pass of Pass Labs was contracted on the design of this and...
General opinion about ADCOM amplifiers This "IMHO" comes late but maybe you are still shopping. Most audiohounds never stop.I have a 555II and,5500. I've had 3 other 555II's as well. For home theater I would say 5 channel Adcom would be good step up from reciever based HT. Not as costly ...
Soliloquy 6.5 grill improvements? Yep, maybe they got so into the loudspeaker itself then had to deal with "grilling" it in the midnight hour before release.I agree, 6.5s float nice sonic pictures. Started out about 7' apart, sidewall reflection dictatedcreeping them closer togethe...

Speakers to hang on to for LIFE Hang on to for life, that could be a long haul.I tend to keep the speakers that I can't recoupe my money from unless I sell them cheap. Makes them easier to keep and use in another area and with great benefit. Room is my only issue I have found re...
Review: Soliloquy 6.5 Speaker Just picked up a used set don't believe original owner has gone fully through break-in yet. I have heard a friends set go through this lengthy break-in process easily 500 plus hours of play time with marked improvements over the entire time. What I...
Review: Sony SS-M7aes Speaker I figure you run the 9's on a long wall.Sitting 8'or soback. Then 9's out into the room about 2-3'.Listening chair out about 3-4'out from back wall. The bass from the 2 eights in each SSM9 would be boostedby wall behind you, which could effect opene...
Review: Sony SS-M7aes Speaker I'll give that ratshack treatment a try. Using a stepped resistor line stage on the highs and active line stage on the lows the transparency and pacing have improved another notch. What size room are you running your 9's in? Thanks for the tip.
Review: Sony SS-M7aes Speaker Back of cabinet [SS-M7] Mine have what appears to be peerless classic DH105 4 ohm 1" fabric dome. Made around 1994? The brace behind/below woofer does not attach to front baffle,as they did on later production. This as told to me by Sony es rep at"...
Review: Sony SS-M7aes Speaker In response to previous posts,I believe the crossover is 4th order, cabinet walls 3/4",driver baffle 1".Drivers Peerless classic series. Tweeters and woofers appear to still be available, midrange however I can't find cataloged. NE1 else have any in...
Review: Sony SS-M7aes Speaker Although purchased several years ago, I am now posting this due to some good listening session w/these speakers only recently. When first set up they sounded nice, imaged out of the cabinet well, but they had constrained dynamics, volume, and lows.Top... |
