Best Loudspeakers for Rich Timbre? I know that with everything, details matter. A neutral low distortion speaker can sound amazing or awful, depending on set up in the room and the gear behind it. I can't tell you how many times I have seen audiophiles try to spend their way out o...
Best Loudspeakers for Rich Timbre? Do you think it has to do with what they are being partnered with when you addition them? I don't really care for the levinson house sound and that is what they usually are paired with at shows. I will tell you most of of my friends that don't hav...
Best Loudspeakers for Rich Timbre? Where did you hear the F228 Be? If you don't like their house sound sound why have you listened to "every speaker they have made since the early 2000s" ?
Best Loudspeakers for Rich Timbre? revel is its own company who's parent company is Harmon, not to difficult to understand, and so what? And the don't rig their tests lol, what in the hell would be the point in that? Why even spend the money on blind tests and a moving double blin...
Best Loudspeakers for Rich Timbre? Revel has their own factories dude, everything is built in house. Cabinets are made in Indonesia. Revel has Floyd tool and Kevin Vocks, arguably the best speaker designers on the planet, who have an embarrassment of resources availible to them ...

Best Loudspeakers for Rich Timbre? Well I don't know what is in the water at Revel but the new 228be has aluminum/ceramic drivers and they are resolving and musical, and they have ported bass and it is very articulate with zero port noise or hump. Very impressive.

Binding post replacement suggestions Paul, the WBT low mass are as close to soldering the speaker cable to the crossover wire as you can get. If you look at a pic of them you can see it's a copper ribbon that is gold plated. Instead of soldering directly to the WBT you can actually p...
Binding post replacement suggestions Cardas posts are better than brass posts but are not as good sounding as low mass posts from WBT or Furutech, WBT being my favorite. They make a surprisingly noticeable difference and are worth the investment.
Road trip to demo $10,000 speakers No you didn't say that, someone else on the thread did that. Sorry for the confusion. Revel has their own factory in Indonesia, so the quality control is very high. I have heard nothing but great things about Magico s3 speakers so congrats on your...
Road trip to demo $10,000 speakers I just looked on the back of my Revel 228 be and it is made in Indonesia, which is not China. I can only think how much more expensive they would be if made in the USA. It would still be cool to have a handmade speaker from California, like they u...
Road trip to demo $10,000 speakers Well Magico is a very well made speaker so congrats on your purchase. I do have an issue with the statement "junk sourced from China " remarks about the Revel, it is unfair and discredits a very, very good speaker. The new f228 be is astounding fo... |
