Anticables
I agree that anticables produce quality products.  No one argues against the quality.  In terms of electrical performance, they are probably coming close to a $1 a foot belden or canare, and they are a very nice touch on equipment. The high value i...

You just got  copper and a larger gauge. You could have done with less $$$.Now, bypass the fuse on your planar, it's free, and you will get even more impressive improvement.
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
No no with the number of big brains working on the development of those $5k a foot cables, it's actually a bargain believe it or not... the electrical engineers at nasa and space x are taking lessons to make their electronics and machineries more ...
Price increase
The good news is that the innovative low-end sometimes is in par with old high-end.The trickle-down of technology lowers the point of diminishing return....sometimes.  it's a matter of finding the gems.
Supra ply 3.4 vs classic 6.0
I believe the Ply 3.4 is 12awg and the Classic 6.0 is 9awg.It looks like your Merlin are 8ohm nominal, going down not lower than 6.5 ohm... An easy load. So you may not benefit from the lower resistance of a mega large wire like the classic 6.0, u...
Mogami wire quality?
akg_ca , if there’s an audible difference, they are increasing wire thickness and/or reducing cable length with each ’upgrade’. Monster cable has done that kind of demo well before nordost or audioquest. Thanks for the link by the way... it's a goo...
Re-wire of speakers to get more Warmth and resolve across the band
I would leave internal wiring alone... Tekton know what they are doing and would never skip investing on the wire if it made a difference.  Just like all reputable speaker manufacturers.

Well I have to agree: my opinion is not scientific fact. really, I had no idea. The new Reduced Dislocation Density (RDD™) Wire provides:An increased sense of volumeMore "real" sounding midrangeLess grain noiseEven smoother highs (like driving on...
If I block the speaker, will it damage the drivers?
By blocking the port, you increase mechanical resistance of the driver, so the speaker won't be as easy to drive, and consequently efficiency of the driver drops.  Nothing major unless you want to achieve a certain db point.

Peanut butter claims are just not comparable to audio cable claims.  Stores' private label peanut butter is generally produced by a well-known manufacturer and there's no claim on either side of "being better than". There's a claim of being cheape...

Yes it's a SCAM.  Level 1 cables, ok why not if they look pretty and measure well.  The other levels, or "upgrades", no one on earth has been able to demonstrate improved electrical characteristics and better sonics. At the price point, it is not o...
Wharfedale Denton 80th Anniversary
Thanks for adding comments... Yes, I dig them now - they actually sound really really good, very sweet with a fair amount of detail and naturalness... they probably needed some "break-in" time and I had to get used to them as they are radically di...
To Bi-Wire or use Jumpers?
The jumpers add 0.003 ohms to the overall load, so they are not a consideration to decide single vs bi-wire.  It just depends on the speaker.  I would get a pair of starquads from canare or mogami, or audioquest if you have a preference for solid ...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
you mention 7ft....8 ohms speakers I presume?   Hard to beat no matter the price or even the gauge...
Best Cheap Amps for Magneplanar Speakers
I don't know what you call cheap, but I have had $300 qsc 1450 behind mmgs, and it put out clean, undistorted sound at concert level.  The lights in the house were dimming with pounding bass drums. I had an adcom preamp between source and qsc.  Mm...
