I think some cables are just a little too expensive.
Hey tablejocky. Are those self powered speakers. If so, yeah you could do without $65,000 cables. I've never heard of them. How much would a pair set you back? Or is it if you have to ask...

I passively bi-amped a pair of Nautilus 802’s and I ran Transparent Super’s to the mids and tweets and Transparent Plus to the woofers. Used 2 Pass Aleph 5 60W pure and I mean PURE class A single ended. Problem was the channel powering the woofers...
Wired vs. Wireless
Wire all the way. Bluetooth is part of the noise most of up are trying to avoid. Why would you want that to be the way your music is transmitted to your wonderfully new headphones? HiFiMAN is pitching Ananda BT. But they are in business to make mo...
Inexpensive Headphone DAC
Yep. Modi 3.
Best Klipsch floor standing speaker
I know! Their isn't one!
headphone question
Even quality companies will put inferior opamps for the headphone output. You can find many quality headphone amps for a few hundred dollars. Schiit is a good place to start.

I heard a guy did that on youtube. Probably not the 65K model. I was told resistors and capacitors. I borrowed a $6000 balanced and it did sound awfully smooth. 1998. They made their networks out of aluminum back then. Most designers can't wait to...
Pass Labs Integrated -150
If it's a Pass Amp it's going to run hot, use a lot of power and probably be the best amplifier you've ever heard.
What made you select "audio" as your hobby
My older brother had a Duel TT, a Pioneer intergraded and a pair of JBL's. This was 1975. That's all it took..
Rotel and Bi-Amping
I did it and the channel powering the woofers was doing all the work. To be honest I never saw what was so great about bi-wiring. An the sudden every speaker has 2 sets of binding posts.
Bi-Amping with one amp?
I had a pair of Nautilus 802's powered by a Pass Labs Aleph 5 60 watt stereo. I got another identical Aleph 5 for cheap. Nelson Pass tells me there's no way to use them as monoblocks. So I ran cable from right channel to the woofers and left chann...
Happy with digital, but thinking about vinyl--looking for system specific recommendations
One thing to keep in mind. You need products to take care of your records. A vacuum record cleaning machine can set you back $5 to 6 hundred dollars. Even brand new records need a thorough cleaning to remove mold release compounds.(your record wou...
Ring Clamps. What do you think?
I had a VPI HW19 MK IV. The only other VPI was the TNT. The 19 still came with an armboard. The JMW Memorial was still an option and it was not road tested. So as I’m waiting for my Mark 4 upgrade, it was about a year since Jonathan’s death and th...

Your saying the technology will filter down. In the 90's everyone was going nuts for digital systems because jitter was a real problem. Mark Levinson DAC's and transports were the best. But Toslinkc do and still tends to suck. What the big boys we...
Tube Phono Stage vs Solid State What do you think?
Tubes can be a pain. They can't vibrate and they need constant attention. They get hot, they can be noisy. Tubes can and do fail at any time they're on, You can't run them constantly, but they don't sound good until they get hot. Solid state you n...
