noromance, thanks for the feedback. Were you able to mod your original design by adding spikes, maple, slate or did you purchase a rack? Also, I considered granite but read some place that it can be tricky too.

Interesting, recently did a similar bake-off over a couple of weekends. Listened to Spendor, Kef, Bryston, Aerial and Paradigms. For me it came down to the Aerial 7Ts and Paradigm 3fs. I listened to both for hours and was able to A-B them on track...
