set speakers large or small?
You better try different set ups and choose the one that suits better to your hearing likes. Some like big speakers, others dont.
Bellari VP 129 vs B&K Phono 10
I have compared this before and the quality is almost the same as the Pro-Ject Phono Box in the entry-level phono-stage market.
Integrated with Phono Stage under $10K
From the ones you posted, the Gryphon Atilla seems to be the best choice for an integrated with many powerful qualities.
Anthem 225 integrated: Anyone knows anything ?
I have seen a lot the anthem, but never had the choice to try them out and listen...btw, here's a review on it:http://www.avrev.com/home-theater-news/power-amplifier-news/anthem-reveals-225-integrated-amplifier.html
Power amp around $3000 for C-J Classic preamp
The conrad johnson can be paired perfectly with a LP66S power amp, it is the perfect match for bright sounding speakers.
Tube Rolling Experience with the Herron VTSP-1A
Since the Herron VTSP-1A produces a very natural sound, i dont see the need to make a tube rolling. The lows and highs are perfect on it, it sounds even better than my previous Bryston's.
ADA, Bryston or Classe
Bryston has a better warranty coverage, it makes a customer more confident when buying that brand, not to mention the authority on mid's and bass quality.
looking for a preamp recommendation
You can use the AES AE-3 Tube Preamp, the sound quality using both is perfect. You have to try them! They're the perfect match.
ARC PH5 vs. BAT VK10
To the moment, i've been testing the ARC PH5...they do sound better than the ASR Basis in sound and bass regards, it has a good musicality and naturalness.
Mods for ARC preamp / amp
Have read lots of positive reviews of these guys, and since they have been promoted on Audiogon, they are recommended.
Creek vs. Parasound
Both brands are awesome, and it makes hard to make a decision...the bad from creeks is the price, all the units i've seen are expensive, they will cost you more than the parasound's.
Best 3 tube preamps under $18000?
There are great brands, like the Forsell Fetcode and the Millennia...they are fantastic.
Totem Forest and Budget Amplifiers
Totem's are not very good speakers, but you can try hooking them with the Krell KAV400i integrated amp.
Levinson 335 or Parasound JC 1's
The levinson 334 is a great amp, i replaced my conrad johson 140 with this one and im happy. The bass response is high and you have all the control over it.
Oppo BD83 as a transport
it uses a Sony laser pickup... it can only be so good...
