Luxman M-600A Hi Mes,funny! I forgot about the initial dealer. Ah, the forums... I'd still like to know, now from someone other than said dealer, how this new Luxman sounds. I believe the Zu boys were using it at some or one of their dems.
Luxman M-600A So, how does a Luxman sound compared to the Pass in question? I've heard the Pass briefly, with several brands of speakers, and didn't care for it. Big sound, lots of power. Just didn't play music the way I like. Perhaps it was a bad combination f...
Luxman M-600A Calm down boys....no, I did not follow your sentence of "but I purchased", at the beginning of that sentence, all you mention is audiogon and internet. I read nothing about buying from or being involved with a dealer. Your writing is about as uncl...
Luxman M-600A "Therefore, I would say the awareness created thru audiogon may help dealers"Why? It appears most of your purchases weren't at a dealers. Oh, you're saying someone can stroke a dealer and glean all the info they can, then go buy online...with grea...
Luxman M-600A Audioblazer, Audiogon has changed the market, for better or worse. It has certainly hurt dealerships. And, it has created a host of armchair critics and authorities. I can certainly understand Audiofeil's frustrations.
Speaker stands height for Harbeth Compact 7es3 Those should be good, although expensive to me. 24" is too high, no matter what your height. Alan Shaw would probably disagree, but it seems at that height it starts robbing from the bass area. You'll be very happy to hear them at 19". Have fun!
Speaker stands height for Harbeth Compact 7es3 Yes, for quite a bit more money...the 20" skylans are not too high, unless you're short or lay down while you listen, even then they'd be fine. If you go lower the soundstage seems to drop in height. I'm 6', my chair is a normal 18" seat, and the ...
Bookshelf speakers with the good bass. You might want to check out some of the Totem models...I've been listening to a few and am very impressed, and I have compact 7's...surprisingly, they are voiced very similiarly, yet the Totems can thunder and time unlike the Harbeths....see what ...
Best $2000-$3000 full range speaker? Try to check out the new Kudos X2's for $2495...
Sold my ET2....now what? Agreed. What with all the ballyhoo over the ET2 when it first came out, I was thrilled with everything I had after that. Do it and don't look back.
Devore Nines as an upgrade John, to me it wouldn't be an upgrade of sorts...it would be a major league transition! and a much more musical one at that...with amazing soundstage and frequency extension. If you can listen again please do so, and for a long session.
vintage tuner: McIntosh or Sansui? I'd seek out a Scott if I were you.
Well Tempered Amadeus Great!
Moving up the Reynaud line, opinions please... Having heard a Reynaud but not the Twins, I'm not sure. The lower end would definitely time better with the X2's than with a Spendor or Harbeth. I'd have a chat with good ol Bob Neil if I were you.
HELP SUGGESTIONS FOR A BETTER SOUND I like your gear, not the speakers, so maybe try auditioning some different brands to see if anything strikes your fancy after all those years. |
