Pop Sound in my speakers when driven loud from studio recorded CD sources. The Cambridge CXC CD Transport does not have the DAC in it... it's just a transport. I'm running all digital signals through the Cambridge DAC Magic Plus. It's a digital converter and preamplifier (I'm not using the preamplifier part). Output im...
Pop Sound in my speakers when driven loud from studio recorded CD sources. Thanks all! Simao: Cambridge Audio CXC Dedicated Transport. It says "Output Impedance" <75 ohms.
Pop Sound in my speakers when driven loud from studio recorded CD sources. Doing some research on clipping. My issue does seem to be (and sound like) amplifier clipping. Only specific 'sharp' sounds seem to cause the speaker drivers to shutter. Anyone want to confirm this? The amplifier in the Marantz receiver does not ...
Pop Sound in my speakers when driven loud from studio recorded CD sources. As far as amplifier clipping is concerned. A recently completely restored Marantz 2275, which was bench tested at about 85 wpc is what the Hales speakers are working with. I don’t know enough about clipping to know if it possible that my amplifier...
Pop Sound in my speakers when driven loud from studio recorded CD sources. I’m afraid there is no rattle or anything loose when I shake the speakers. I would revise my description of the sound though, from a "pop" to something more like a "fart" or "burp"... sorry folks, that's what it sounds like ;-).

For instance, a hard slap of the snare drum or tom tom drum by a drummer. So the pop coordinates with certain sharp staccato...
Cambridge Azur 851C Upsampling DAC, CD Player & Preamplifier biketony & mre_m... thank you.I agree with biketony, my digital situation is a mess and could sound better as well. I'm working too many digital inputs w/ compromised sound: Apple Music streaming via iPhone, from my Mac via WiFi to Airport E...
Unison Research Aria S2K with Hales Revelation 1 [bookshelf speakers] https://www.dhtrob.com/overige/tubefriendly_lsp_en.php I guess by the lack of response to my original post, it's a rather naive question? The link above, I found to be a sober assessment of 'tube friendly loud speakers'. In my searches through t...
A Good Match? Thanks Stanwal... I'm learning a lot here. So what you describe generally is a factual problem... but we're not sure if it applies with the Hales. Does anyone else know what the impedance minimum on the Hale's might be? An internet search on that ...
A Good Match? Thanks everyone! Helpful responses. Stanwal.... You're over my head with your impedance curve question. Heres some info on the Hales:http://www.soundstage.com/revequip/weaver16.htmArni: Any suggestions? Did I mention I'm on a budget?Frogman: Good ... |
