Cartridge headshell, what would you choose and why?
It's been said before but in general Audio-Technica Technicard (or AT Magnesium with same design) headshells of different weight are the best money can buy with azymuth and overhang adjustments. It's also the easiest headshell to mount the cartrid...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Last night i have mounted Glanz MF61 on Reed 3P "12 and was blown away. Before i have tried Glanz in my second system on lighter arm, but with Reed (18g effective mass) it's much much better. The only think is missing is the manual of this cartrid...
Technics SP-10 Tonearm Pod instead of Plinth/Base
Lew, they use hardwood far eastern ply on regular basis or Baltic birch (for just 90 quids extra). What you can recommend for sp-10?
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Ok, it's 1st of october and i can name new cartridge of the month now. Seriously the GLANZ FM-61 is probably the best find so far! Thanks to all contributors in this thread. This one beat every MM/MI i have owned before (including Technics 100cmk3...
Technics SP-10 Tonearm Pod instead of Plinth/Base
Albert, In the future they might be using panzerholz and slate for double price as the panzerholz not only expensive but virtually impossible to get in the UK. Acoustand Audio now use plywood primarily in construction.
Technics SP-10 Tonearm Pod instead of Plinth/Base
That's what Mr. Lee Drage (Acoustand Audio) told me: "We use mainly hardwood plywood which has proved excellent for the sp10 as it doesn't require a massive plinth it is so well engineered, and the sizes are 45.5 deep by 53 cm wide, approx height ...

Perfect, really looking forward for your feedback about this plinth. Did you get the obsidian style or different design?
Technics SP-10 Tonearm Pod instead of Plinth/Base
Albert, their price is reasonable and plinth maker Lee Grage respond quickly on email. For example their kenwood style plinth for sp10 cost £400. Lee own his own workshop and he can make any custom plinth. I got some info from Lee about his obsidi...
Pani ... New ART-9 up and running ...
Dodgealum, i use ART-2000 and won't even try the ART-9, better to try something else if you already familiar with Audio Technica sound, life is short. So many nice vintage MCs available for the price under $1000.

How much am I missing with SL1200 mk2?
Dear friendsWith all my respect to SL1210 mk2 let's make it clear it's a hi-fi turntable, not a hi-end gear. Not even close to Technics hi-end decks from the 70s. SL1200/1210 mk2, mk3, mk3D or mk5 are good for proffessional use in the clubs, it's ...
