Plinth ideas for DENON PD-80 DD turntable
I suggest the SS-300 is better suited: it has a cut-out on the underside at the edge, so it doesn't contact the outer platter at all. You're right, just tried it. It is true that the bottom side of the SS-300 is slightly smaller in diameter th...
Best phono player for newbie with good 2 ch system
Technics SL1200GR is the best option for you, something about $1800And if it’s too much there is SL1200 mk7 cheaper. Both are brand new Direct Drive turntables. Do not mix it up with an old SL1200mk2
ZYX Optimum phono cartridge - a defining statement
@jollytinker I see your point and personally I would love to sample older MM carts from the so-called "golden age" but I’ve found that my efforts haven’t been too fruitful (haven’t seen the magic yet). The carts that interest me - a Grace Level ...
Plinth ideas for DENON PD-80 DD turntable
Mine says "Denon" on the back, molded in the rubber. Yours is markedly different. I have one that closely resembles yours; more concentric rings, and lighter in weight — but of course that doesn’t mean it is like yours. "SFTG170M01" appears on the...
ZYX Optimum phono cartridge - a defining statement
I'm curious, if i could afford to buy and to test all the multi-thousand dollar cartridges in the world from those modern designers like Nakatsuka-San and others (there are many), what would be my statement regarding my rare vintage gems designed,...
Plinth ideas for DENON PD-80 DD turntable
@bima my platter is just like yours, the inner part is not the label size, it’s the record size (on my DP-80)

Name Your Top 5 Most Musical Dynamic Sounding Tonearms of All time?
I don't like tonearm without armlift, i don't like to make additional hole in the plinth just for the armrest. There are much better tonearms available than Audio-Technica ATP-12
What tonearm is recommended for the denon 103r
I can recommend pairing a Denon DL-103R with the very under rated Victor UA-7082 tonearm. This is what i'm using now with Victor MC-L10, but subweight is required. I've seen people using it even with SPU. The short version (UA-7045) should work ...

Figuring Cartridge Compliance.. Help!
@coachpoconnor instead of payin’ that much for a piece of plastic called MINTLP you’d better check Dr.Feickert protractor, it will give you far more for any turntable and any tonearm or any size, also you will get all 3 alignment methods to choose...
Is there a really great MM only solid state Phone Preamp?
JLTi phono stage is absolutely amazing for MM with optional loading for MM, if you will ask the designer to make custom change (for free) you will be able to use MM/MI not only with 47k Ohm loading, but with 100kOhm loading. There is also an MC in...
Tonearm Suggestions For Technics Sp15 Under 5k
what are your top 5 tonearms you own now? It's a tough question, because i haven't tried all tonearms i'm willing to try (yet). Also, as i said in another topic, it is all depends on the cartridge. Different arms for different cartridges. I wi...
Name Your Top 5 Most Musical Dynamic Sounding Tonearms of All time?
Tonearm and Cartridge combination is far more important than Tonearm and Turntable combination. If you have matched arm/cartridge then you can use it on any turntable unless you can mount the arm on that table.
Forever turntable under $2000
What the hell is all this love in for Technics 1200sg all of a sudden? Can anyone prove that its audiophile musical quality? @vinny55 Do you need a proof for the brands like Technics ? Look for SP-10 mkII and MK III, comparing those ultimate turn...
