Is a offer of -20 percent on an OBO ad insulting?
An offer of 20% discount from an OBO-type ad is completely within reason. Everyone reacts differently to offers.I recently had someone make a lowball offer on some goods (which is perfectly fine), but they also added a lecture on how ridiculous my...
Queen any one ???
There is a 3-CD "Platinum Collection"(basically greatest Hits 1,2, and 3) coming soon. If it has undergone the latest remastering techniques, it will be sweet. The DCC "Night @ The Opera" is "OK" (worth the $25), and the MoFi "News Of The World" i...
New Stones DSD disc's...Anybody heard em' yet?
These discs are so impressive, it makes me want to swap my Cary CD-306/100 for a Sony SCD-1, immediately. I might be losing some quality on redbook, but the value of the SACD capability would be immeasurable(especially if the format war is now off...
Are you going to buy the Rolling Stones SACDs?
I purchased both "Hot Rocks","Beggar's Banquet","Let It Bleed","Satanic Majesties", and "Metamorphosis".I do not have SACD, but got the 2-CD sets for 24.99 and the singles for 13.99, and was able to use a 15% off total purchase coupon from Borders...

I tried to fool myself into believing that these "premium" pressings were superior. When you pay 2x to 8x the price over the standard issue, that's easy to do. The fact is, even on the new Patricia Barber titles, you have to use delusion to believ...
SACD finally taking-off? non-classical listeners
That's very interesting about "Rumours". I don't believe there has been any remastering or revision of the original mid-80's CD. The dismal quality of my copy is noticeable on every player I have ever tried. My only recourse has been "The Dance". ...
How Can I Play DVD-A?
Thank you for the responses. It looks like SACD might finally lift-off this fall with the Rolling Stones releases. The engineer claims the SACD revisions sound 40% better than the standard on these hybrids.I think there are a few models that do th...
Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits
Knopfler's "Sailing To Philadelphia" would be the first CD that comes to mind. It may be superior from beginning to end. Again, the XRCD2 version of "Brothers In Arms" is the reference version.
