CD vs. SACD vs. DVD-Audio vs Vinyl vs... Bmpnyc: Just curious, how often do you venture off Manhattan Island? (...a theory I have about people in the music industry who live there...) Anyway, sounds like you've done things I've only dreamed of (recording for so many years). Someday, I ho...
Why has Netflix gotten greedy? Hopefully they'll have an avalanche of online competition soon! Glad to hear that somebody agrees with me on here, about something...
CD vs. SACD vs. DVD-Audio vs Vinyl vs... Oh, and about the CD50. I think they've stopped production on them for a while. I was just trying to get people to buy used ones, like I did. That's where the real value is, especially now.
CD vs. SACD vs. DVD-Audio vs Vinyl vs... I'm back. 0008: It's good that you have "little adventures" like that. I'd lay odds that the "plastic effect" you heard primarily was from the recording. But that terrible Focal tweeter in the Wilsons just "magnified" it. The Krell certainly would...
CD vs. SACD vs. DVD-Audio vs Vinyl vs... Gerry, you say I don't know the rules. I apologize for not knowing them. Seems like there's only one that applies here: We go tell the teacher when we get upset with another kid's opinion, instead of sticking up for ourselves like adults. I'm tire...
Problems with U.P.S. I agree that UPS isn't all that great. My item was destroyed once, but UPS actually payed more for it than I had it insured for (since I had it insured for the actual value, which was below the replacement cost). BUT I'VE BOUGHT AND SOLD MANY ITEM...
VINYL SURFACE NOISE Albert: What do you think the difference is in the formula, between VPI's cleaning fluid and RRL's?
Recommend a long subwoofer rca? A long run won't help things. I use MIT T2 for the sub, but mine is an augmented setup, so the sub isn't between preamp and amp.
CD vs. SACD vs. DVD-Audio vs Vinyl vs... Indeed, Audiogon has asked me to censor myself, and I will certainly oblige. I apologize for responding too much to posts in this forum. I guess I've not gotten old enough to just lay down and take a whoopin every now and then. TO ALL THAT COMPLAI...
CD player finally died. Need rec. Sorry you felt it necessary to complain about me to the man. You'll notice I'll be scaling myself down from now on, so as to fit on this site and its regulations.
mono or stereo? (classe or ?) I was referring to the one Krell amp. Like I said, monoblocks do have advantages. I've not heard two of your amps as monoblocks directly compaired with mine, but I did compare mine to Musical Fidelity XA-200 monoblocks, and it easily beat them in ...
BEST sites - buying used high end gear Audioweb and Audiogon. Yes, it's very fun to find the right component for a terrific price. UPS COD is usually the way to go, but you should try to get to know them well enough that you can trust them first.
Are subwoofers worth the trouble? I've had little trouble dialing mine in, and leaving it alone. If your room is properly treated, the end result is very rewarding.
how about the ayre v-3 If your CD player is half as good as my CD50, it should do very well.
mono or stereo? (classe or ?) Monoblocks do have advantages. If you are in love with the sound of the Classe, I say go for it. If you aren't, try the Krell KAV-250a. There are several rave reviews, the most recent in "The Perfect Vision" (they used music to judge this amp). |
