Help choosing digital front end.
Baydude, can you not find their website?
Help choosing digital front end.
I suggest you try a used Resolution CD50, why limit yourself to just the 3 above? The Bel Canto can't take advantage of balanced operation, and how many SACD titles are you going to buy, from the limited numbers available? I concede there are 2 or...
Simple Question. Simple Answer?
I meant to say that in the mean time, you could just double-up the spade connectors (of two sets of single wire speaker cables) on the amp end, and connect to the bi-wire terminals on the speaker end. I have an HT Pro-9 biwire cable, that I double...
Simple Question. Simple Answer?
I use a small length of Audioquest 22 gauge silver wire to bypass the tweeter fuses on my Maggies. It should probably be a little bigger wire than that, but this has worked fine for me. I don't believe there is a solid core silver wire that is any...
Simple Question. Simple Answer?
My vote for this method, if you must use it, is to use separate silver wire as the jumper, simply because when the silver on the surface of the conductor oxidizes over time, it will still conduct electricity (Jeffrey Smith of Silversmith cables fe...
Aleph-3 Questions
David, I'm very glad this is turning around for you. Maybe you'll be happy, but I also want you to learn to like other types of music. Music that is "beautiful", is still valid music. Why have a "BEYOND CLASS A" amp, just to run distortion rock th...
Interconnects for Tube amps
Dekay, I will email you.
Relief? The New Digital Players
Mfgrep, I agree with that!
Bananas vs. Spades
I agree on the resale issue, hardly anybody likes bananas (I do, however). Also, I agree on the extra connection, especially if this adaptor is mostly brass (which I bet it is).
Top Ten Interconnects of all time...
My vote for #1 is the MIT 350 Shotgun EVO.
Interconnects for Tube amps
Curtis, I use MIT with my Rogue 88 tube amp, and recommend that you at least try it, before you "stay away" from it. If the input impedance of your tube amp is high, like 200k ohms, then you could try one of the high impedance specific 330 series ...
3-D Imaging: How??
And yes, in my little 12 x 14 x 7.5ft room, I get "lots of depth"...like about 200 virtual feet behind the little Maggies, with the Apogee mastered "Offenbach, Gaite Parisienne" gold CD (vinyl would be more like 300 "virtual feet"). Talk about the...
3-D Imaging: How??
Get ASC traps, even the "nearfield" in a room that small will have reflections that are just too loud in level, and too early in time. They smooth out and extend the bass very well also. If I'm wrong, why do most hi-fi show exhibits use them? If y...
Aleph-3 Questions
I just looked at Rogue's website, and couldn't find specs. What does the owner's manual say the impedance at the main outputs is for the 99? I still say that if it's like over 1000 ohms, then it is having a tough time driving the Aleph.
Aleph-3 Questions
David, Martin has owned many amps and equipment, and knows of what he speaks. Martin: I'm very glad to see that you can shed some light on this!...............I agree about the input and output impedance, and I believe that the Aleph series of pow...
