Consider Audio Research, Naim, Parasound Halo JC1 monoblock amps, Classe Delta CA-2300 stereo amp, Classe Delta CAM-300 monoblock amps, some used Virus Audio amps, BAT, VAC, VTL, Accuphase, Conrad Johnson, Pass, Mark Levinson, etc.
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ?
@bwguy You don't want to be messing around with a manual PEQ if you don't have tools to do it. You might want to leave it off until you can have someone who can do proper calibration for you. You could hire a pro or an acoustician to do it for you...
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ?
@erik_squires Yup. The Classe Sigma SSP will be your best choice. It also performs really well when used as an analog stereo preamp in bypass mode. If you want to use its stereo analog inputs I suggest you use its XLR analog stereo input as the st...
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ?
@erik_squires I’ve heard the NAD M17 at my local dealer before paired with the matching NAD M27 amp and they sounded good together. The Classe Sigma SSP is a superior sounding unit for stereo. The NAD M17 has more bells & whistles than the Cla...
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ?
@bwguy  It isn't only the distance settings that you need to make adjustments for but since your unit went back to Classe and you lost all the calibration setup with its manual PEQ that your Classe dealer originally calibrated it for you when you ...
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ?
@bwguy I do not have the Sigma SSP at home. I’m currently using the SSP 800 with all Classe Delta series amps. I’m using the Classe CAM-600 monoblock amps driving my front B&W 800 D3 speakers, CAM-300 monoblock amp (single) driving my B&W ...
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ?
@psnyder149 Yup. For stereo music playbacks the Classe Sigma SSP sounded the best using its USB DAC input port. It’s magical and it is only $5k brand new for the first original version and $6k brand new for the Mk2 version. And it is also an AV pr...
Bryston 4b3 or BHK 250- how woudl you compare them?
The PS Audio BHK 250, Pass 150.8, Bryston 4B3 are all great amps and received very good reviews. They will have different sonic characters and are of course system dependents. You will have to try them out in your setup and system using your own s...
Amp upgrades under $3K for bookshelf system
I recommend the Rega Osiris stereo integrated amp currently retails for $3k. This is an analog integrated amp. No DAC. You can get an external dedicated phonostage preamp.
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ?
@Erik_squires If you will be interested at the end of the year let me know or anyone who will be interested.
Marantz PM14 S1 and Bowers &Wilkins 702
I believe the Rega P8 or P10 turntables with the right tonearm & cartridge are step up sonically from the Marantz TT15 S1 turntable. The Linn LP12 is even better especially the LP12 Klimax version or package but are really expensive. However, ...
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ?
@erik_squires I will be selling my Classe SSP 800 in few months probably towards the end of the year. I will be upgrading to a new processor that can decode Dolby Atmos, DTS-X, Auro 3D, etc. But first I will have to start remodeling my home theate...
Marantz PM14 S1 and Bowers &Wilkins 702
@sikhosanam IMO the Rega turntable will be good choice for your setup and system and will perform and sound way better than your Marantz turntable. Rega turntables start at little less than $1k up to around $10k not including tonearm, cartridge, P...
Marantz PM14 S1 and Bowers &Wilkins 702
@sikhosanam You should upgrade and get a better turntable, tonearm, cartridge, PSU for the turntable and add a good quality external phonostage preamp. Marantz does not make good turntables and its accompanying accessories.Rega makes great turntab...
Marantz PM14 S1 and Bowers &Wilkins 702
@sikhosanam The B&W 702 S2 are pretty efficient speakers and aren't hard to drive but their impedance will drop to around 3 ohms at certain frequencies around 100 Hz and below which will make it hard for an amplifier. Depending on how big your...
